Graces Garden Stamp Set and the Garden Gateway Dies …. a fabulous set in the Annual Catalogue!
Welcome to my blog. It’s Colour INKspiration challenge CI#94 and the inspiration pic for this challenge is truly gorgeous.
Graces Garden plus Seaside Spray, Mango Melody, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Misty Moonlight
What a gorgeous colour scheme …. and I have tried a few new things for this hop! Firstly, this is the first time I have inked up the Graces Garden Stamp Set and matching dies! (EEEEEP, how can that be, it is gorgeous!!) … and I have created a “rocker” card for the first time ever! How fun!
My card really doesn’t have the same vibe as the Inspiration Image, even though I used all the colours. I guess it just depends on the mix.
A rocker card is basically a large circle folded in half, and then decorated. It “rocks” when you display it folded.
Stampin’ Up! don’t have anything currently to create such a large circle. I used to have a circle cutter, but of course couldn’t find it, so I just used one of my breakfast bowls as a template and cut around it with a sharp blade.
My circle is 13.5cm in diameter (that’s about 5 1/2″), and once folded, I added decorative elements so that the card would still fit in a standard envelope for mailing/giving. And I added another (smaller) circle cut in half on the inside … also cut around a smaller bowl. Note the floral decorative elements, which nicely hide any slightly uneven edges! 🙂
I used Seaside Spray to stamp up most of the images on Very Vanilla cardstock, and then coloured them up with Seaside Spray, Mango Melody, and Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends. All those elements are separately stamped and die cut, so you can be a landscape artist as well as a card artist! 🙂 The cute little kitten is stamped with Crumb Cake and coloured with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.
The sentiment has been stamped with Misty Moonlight over a panel sponged with Seaside Spray ink.
My Rocker Circle is Crumb Cake Cardstock, and I die but the delicate foliage pieces from Crumb Cake Cardstock and then added a little Crumb Cake ink so they would stand out when adhered to the front panel of the rocker card.
The cards the other design team members have created for this challenge are absolutely STUNNING!!! Head on over to the Colour INKspiration #94 Gallery on Facebook.
