Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set and Butterfly Wings Dies are a “go to” bundle! I created this Crayon Resist Technique cards for Colour INKspirations Challenge #111.
Welcome to my blog. I created this card for Colour INKspirations Challenge #111. Sadly, I have taken so long to upload my image that the challenge is now finished. But I wanted you to see where I got the inspiration for this card.
This inspiration pic was chosen by Nicole Wilson … what a gorgeous, calming colour scheme to work with.

Our guest designer for this challenge was Michelle Miller. Michelle’s work is always amazing. Check out her entry in the Designer’s Album which is linked to below.
While this challenge may be finished, you can still check out the entries in the facebook group and you can also check out the Designer’s creations in the Designer’s album here. The winners of this challenge were Melodie Viljoen, Yvon Van Heugten Doensen and Rissa Seabolt. You can see their amazing projects here.
We have a new colour challenge beginning on Wednesday 24th November, why don’t you join us … it is fun and it is easy. You don’t need a blog, you can simply create, take a photo and then upload your pic into the facebook group.
Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set
I created this card in my weekly Whimsy Wednesday Creative Facebook Live on facebook. Click the link below to see the recording in my Facebook Group. The card features the Crayon Resist Technique, and was inspired by Riikka Kovasin, a mixed media artist in Finland!
Here are a couple more images using this colour scheme … I love the elegance of the Soft Succulent, Crumb Cake and Evening Evergreen, along with a touch of Vanilla and gold.
The butterfly is stamped with Stazon ink and watercoloured using the two green ink colours.
The crayons are just some very old Crayola crayons I have had laying around for a long while, and because I couldn’t find my white crayon, I used a white wax crayon I picked up at a craft store somewhere along the line. The brand is Leviathan (made in Australia by Garnet Manufacturing). As long as your crayons are wax based, they will resist the ink.
Let’s try that in a different colour-way
I created the same card in a brighter colour-way, using Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz and Just Jade for the background and to watercolour the butterfly.
Which one is your favourite?
Here are the measurements and supplies I used to create these cards. Download PDF here. You will need to watch the facebook live for the technique steps. 🙂
