Stamping Sunday June 2024 – Casing the Catalogue

Loading

Everyday Details Stamp Set is a very adorable line art set in the 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Such fun to colour these very appealing images, even if it means a little bit of fussing cutting sometimes.

Stamping Sunday is a group of demonstrators from around the world who get together on the third Sunday of every month to share creativity. I am so thrilled to be included in this very talented group of stampers, so much inspiration! I want to thank them all for including me.

For the month of June, the Stamping Sunday designers are “casing the catalogue” … choosing a project from the catalogue and re-creating it in our own style. You can choose a project and use different products … or do what I have done and use the same products and change up the colours and layout for a totally different look. This is a great way to kickstart your creativity when you have a free afternoon and no ideas! 🙂

Everyday Details for Stamping Sunday June Hop

I chose this little project (on the left) from the catalogue (Page 111) to case. I love the soft and elegant look on this box made from Designer Series Paper. I don’t do boxes … so I decided to re-create this one on a card front. And my end result does use the same products …. but the similarities end there.

Everyday Details …

I have lost the soft and elegant vibe along the way somewhere …. and this card has a distinct vintage feel. I think it is it the colours. Changing the colours up has definitely changed the entire look.

  • I used the same banner die, it comes from the Nested Essentials Dies and has a delightful double stitched feature. The little dots are from the Everyday Details stamp set, stamped all over the banner with Versamark and heat embossed them with White Embossing Powder. Then Lemon Lolly, Peach Pie and Pecan Pie were blended onto the tag to create a graduation. It’s a buffet table right there!! 😉
  • Keeping the same Specialty Paper, I cut a panel of the Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper, added a little Peach Pie blending in a graduated effect (my favourite technique with this paper) and matted it with some Textured Metallic Specialty Paper in the copper.
  • These two panels are adhered to a Peach Pie folded card with the front embossed with the new Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder. Soooo much texture … this was an additional product not in the original project, but the card front looked a little bare.
  • I did add some die “leafage” … I didn’t have the Flowers of Beauty Dies, so I pulled out the Painted Lavender dies which has some gorgeous little leaf and floral sprigs. These were die cut from white card and ink blended very lightly with Lemon Lolly and Pecan Pie inks.
  • The VERY cute teacup with flower have been stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and then watercoloured with Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly and Peach Pie inks. I did fussy cut this one.
  • The sentiment is from Everyday Details and has been heat embossed with Copper Embossing powder onto white card and then die cut with a die from the Everyday Details dies. These come with the stamp set, but they are all shapes with various decorative elements.
  • The Baker’s Twine started out as white, and I dyed it with some Peach Pie ink and water mixed on a block.

It’s a totally different vibe to the original, and I would like to try the same card but in the original Petal Pink colourway. Peach Pie probably isn’t my favourite of the new In Colors, but I certainly seem to be using it a lot lately.

This was a fun project and so much fun to start with a bunch of products and see where the creative time takes you. Especially when you have no contraints as to how many different products you can use … the list looks overwhelming and the mess on my table was a bit daunting, but I LOVE using anything I can find to get the look I like.

I would love to hear what you think!

  • Wow! As always, I love your design and interpretation. The peach pie cardbase with embossing really does add so much. I love the ink blending on the specialty paper and banner tag. The pop of azure afternoon just adds perfection. Every detail just adds to this card. When I first saw the card I said “wow”….& its a perfect description.
Thanks for the inspiration I needed to craft today!
