Drizzling Droplets stamp is a large background stamp, available as an Online Exclusive and release in March 2024. It is a Distinktive style image and makes a lovely and quick background in a flash.

Welcome to my blog. Today’s post is for Colour INKspirations Colour Challenge #161. Our inspiration pic for this challenge was chosen by design team member, Leonie Stuart. What a gorgeous summer feel!

CI#161 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7 pm (AEDT) on Monday March 25th.

Drizzling Droplets Background Stamp …

This background stamp is one of the first of the newly released Online Exclusives to catch my eye! I love stamps that can be used in many different ways and this is certainly one of those.

Drizzling Droplets CI161

These are definitely not colours I would have put together! The Hummingbird is coloured with Moody Mauve and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends and I am so surprised by how well they blend together!

Step 1. To stamp those gorgeous drizzling droplets, I laid the stamp on a large block rubber side up and applied Melon Mambo ink to the stamp rubber side up with an ink blending brush. I placed a piece of white cardstock onto the inked stamp and gave it a burnish with an acrylic block. The droplets are textured, not solid, so they will be textured anyway, but applying ink with the blending brush gives a much lighter effect.

Step 2. I used another ink blending brush and Moody Mauve ink to add some shading around the sides and top of the piece.

Step 3. The hummingbird from Thoughtful Expressions stamp set is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and coloured with Moody Mauve and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends. After die cutting, I added some quick strokes of Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for a little bit of sparkle.

Step 4. The tag shape from Tailor Made Tag Dies has been cut from Moody Mauve cardstock, and the text stamp from Queen Bee stamp set stamped onto it with Moody Mauve ink. The twine through the top of the tag is the Moody Mauve Jute Trim (pulled apart).

Step 5. The leaves are die cut from the Thoughtful Expressions dies and Garden Green cardstock.

Step 6. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Happy Little Things stamp set with White embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock and then fussy cut.

If you have it, use it!

Once again, I have used quite a few different supplies in this card. Thoughtful Expressions bundle, Drizzling Droplets Stamp Set, Queen Bee Stamp Set, Tailor Made Tags, Happy Little Things stamp set.

  • I love how you’ve combined the blending with your new background stamp Cheryll. It is so effective and really makes it look like your hummingbird is hovering, just like they do in real life. Love this card!
