Creating kindness Design Team

Welcome to the Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop for May 2020. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to hop with this fabulous group of artists each month. The theme for May is “Animals” … hmmmm, interesting!!!

Our guest designer this month is the amazing Jess Collard. Jess is based in the United Kingdom!

Chickens, chickens everywhere and not an egg to eat!

Mad Chicken Lady

I am a little bit of a mad chicken lady. Currently we have 12 bantam chickens of varying different breeds. We have a couple of roosters and so inevitably we end up with baby chickens which are a bit of a mixed bag. Every now and then we have to move our roosters on and get new ones . One of the latest acquisitions is a cute little “Polish” chicken … man oh man, is he a cutie!!

And yet we are still buying in our eggs at present. With winter coming on here in the Southern Hemisphere (I live in South Australia), the chickens are moulting and have stopped laying. I am getting quite a collection of feathers, but nary an egg for many weeks now!

The stamp set I have used to recreate some of my little chicken flock is a retired set from Stampin’ Up! called “Hey Chick”. I have kept it stashed away with all my “special” stamps. It was nice to pull it out and colour up some chickens. The chickens in these images are very much the same shape as my girls, and my little Polish Boy.
