Flowing Flowers Stamp Set has been paired with Forever Blossoms Stamp Set to create this moody floral card for Colour INKspiration Colour Challenge #116.
Welcome to my blog. Today’s post is for Colour INKspirations Colour Challenge #116. I chose this inspiration image so obviously I liked these colours! 🙂

Flowing Flowers Watercolour Card
I have combined Flowing Flowers Stamp Set (my favourite from the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalogue) with the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set, mainly because those small flowers in the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set looked similar to Flowing Flowers and they were easy to fussy cut. There is a die for this small flower, however I didn’t want the white border around the edge, so I put my patience hat on and had a lovely time cutting them all out.
It is a slightly darker card than I usually create, due to no white elements. I nearly used white for the sentiment piece, but with no other white elements, I thought it might have been a little bit stark. So Smoky Slate it was! 🙂
I stamped and masked the largest flower onto Watercolour Paper with Stazon ink, before stamping the small floral images. The smaller flowers from the Forever Blossoms stamp set were stamped separately onto Watercolour Paper. The reason I chose watercolouring for this project is that I LOVE Blackberry Bliss watercoloured. It takes away all the heaviness of straight Blackberry colour and brings out all the glorious pinky tones. Such a striking colour!
I dropped ink refill onto acrylic blocks to use as a palette for watercolouring, great when you want the colours to be more intense.
And once they were dry, I did highlight the black flower centres with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
The floral panel is die cut with Stitched Rectangle dies and then matted with Basic Black card. The Smoky Slate background piece has been embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and then extra texture added using an Ink Blending Brush and Smoky Slate ink.
In all honesty, this looked pretty good to me before I added the Highland Heather coloured flowers, but I had spent so long fussy cutting them and edging them with Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker that I felt compelled to actually use them! 🙂
