Translucent Florals Stamp Set and Die Bundle is a carry over item from the Stampin’ Up!® Sep to Dec 2023 Mini Catalogue … still available bundled for 10% discount in the online shop. I am using this bundle along with the long time favourite, the Queen Bee Stamp Set, to showcase my favourite technique for this month’s blog hop.

Welcome once again to Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, travelling around the world through every time zone. You may be starting your trip Around the World here or you may have come from the blog of amazing artist Rochelle Laird-Smith. Always excited to see what Rochelle has created.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators.

This month, we are working with a technique challenge … the Around the World on Wednesday gang are showcasing our favourite techniques. By far my favourite technique is creating collage backgrounds.

Collage Background Technique …

This technique involves stamping multiple images onto a background created with ink or paint. In this instance, I created my coloured background by using Starry Sky and Coastal Cabana inks to watercolour a panel of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper.

To create the collaged background, I used images from the Queen Bee stamp set. Some are stamped with Night of Navy ink and some with White Craft ink. I also splattered the piece with White Craft ink.
I thoroughly dried the piece with a heat tool before heat embossing the sentiment (Translucent Florals) and white embossing powder.

The flower has been cut from the Translucent Florals Dies. I watercoloured some Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper with Coastal Cabana ink before die cutting. I then stamped the die cut petals with the text stamp from Queen Bee Stamp Set and Night of Navy ink.

To add a little extra pizzazz to the petals, I freehand drew some lines around the edges with Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker. If you do this twice, it means that any wonkiness on the first pass looks deliberate.

I trimmed the watercoloured background piece down and matted it onto a panel of Night of Navy card to create a very fine border, and then adhered to the Basic White Thick folded card.

This card was created for a Facebook Live back in September 2023. I was short on time due to a very sad death in the family, funeral etc. so had to go looking for a card that I had already created, but not blogged, using my favourite technique. Check out the facebook live here.

Translucent Florals Bundle …

The Translucent Florals Stamp Set and die bundle is one of my favourites. The floral images are amazing to stamp with and the dies cut both the images and stand alone florals which make amazing 3d flowers.

This is my monthly rewards code … use it when checking out to receive a gift of a 12 video tutorial bundle. Click on the image to add link to your shopping cart automatically.
