Cheerful Daisies stamp set and die bundle have been used for Colour INKspiration challenge #144.

Welcome to my blog. Today’s post is for Colour INKspirations Colour Challenge #144. Our inspiration pic for this challenge was chosen by our very talented team member … Monica Formosa.

Check out how to join in the challenge below …. if you don’t have the exact colours, you can use a close substitute, Tahitian Tide instead of Azure Afternoon for instance.

The Colour INKspiration challenge is a great one to get your inspiration flowing. It is very easy to enter the challenge. You don’t need a blog, you can simply post your card image in the facebook group. I will tell you that this challenge finishes on Monday 12th June, so you only have a day to get playing and post a pic in the group.

Our CI#144 challenge features Bubble Bath, Crushed Curry, Lemon Lolly, Parakeet Party and Azure Afternoon. The challenge parameters are to use all four of the challenge colours (or if you don’t have the exact colour, you can substitute a close alternative). In addition you can use neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand and Basic Black, or metallics.

Check out how you can join in the challenge at the end of this post or on the facebook page here.
And if you need inspiration, the designer’s album for this challenge is absolutely fantastic. Click on the Media tab and then “Albums”, or go straight to the album here.

Cheerful Daisies simple style …

I have created three cards today, and to start with I am keeping it really simple. Using the Cheerful Daisies stamp set only, I have created a quick and simple card suitable for a beginner stamper with only a few supplies.

Cheerful Daisies

Here are the steps to create this one … supplies list is at the bottom of the post.

Quick and easy steps:

  • The three large daisy outlines are stamped onto Basic White card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • Colour has been applied to the petals with light and dark Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends.
  • Flower centres are stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
  • The grouping of three daisies has been stamped around the edges of the panel with Parakeet Party ink.
  • A light touch of Lemon Lolly ink is added behind the flowers with an ink Blending Brush.
  • A fine black splatter has been achieved by “flicking” the brush end of a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker against the marker tip.
  • The sentiment is stamped onto Bubblebath cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and trimmed close to words with paper trimmer. I snipped each end of the piece at an angle with Paper Snips and adhered with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The stamped panel has been layered onto Basic Black cardstock and then onto a Parakeet Party folded card.
  • To finish off, I added a scattering of sequins from the Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins … they are Petal Pink colour, but shhhhhhh … don’t tell anyone.
Cheerful Daisies

It is the little touches that make this card a beginner’s card with a little extra wow.

Cheerful Daisies stepped up …

Let’s take it up a notch … this card uses the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and the co-ordinating dies to add some depth and texture.

Cheerful Daisies

Here are the steps to create this one … supplies list is at the bottom of the post.

Stepped up a notch steps:

  • The three large daisy outlines are stamped onto Basic White card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • Flower centres are stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
  • Lemon Lolly ink has been added to edges of panel with an ink Blending Brush.
  • The grouping of three daisies has been stamped around the edges of the panel with Parakeet Party ink.
  • The stamped panel has been layered onto Basic Black cardstock and then onto a Parakeet Party folded card.
  • The large daisy outline is stamped three times onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the petals coloured with Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends. No need for any shading as they will be covered over. Die cut all three with the appropriate die from Cheerful Daisies Dies.
  • The large daisy detailed die has been cut three times from a scrap of Basic White cardstock and Azure Afternoon colouring added with ink and a blending brush.
  • The large flower centre has been stamped with Crushed Curry ink three times and die cut with the co-ordinating die.
  • Adhere the daisy pieces together to create three daisy flowers (the flower centres are rounded and attached with a mini glue dot) and adhere to stamped panel.
  • The sentiment is stamped onto Bubblebath cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and die cut with a die from the Sending Dies. Adhere to card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To finish off, I again added a scattering of sequins from the Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins.

I love the added fullness of this card … flowers just waiting for bees to come and collect pollen!

Cheerful Daisies over the top …

This one is an avid card … beyond avid really, this is an “Avid Nutcase Stamper card” for sure.

Cheerful Daisies Avid Card

Here are the steps to create this one … supplies list is at the bottom of the post.

Avid Nutcase stamper Steps:

  • For this one, start off with a panel of Fluid 100 Watercolour paper and apply Bubblebath, Lemon Lolly and Azure Afternoon inks randomly to the panel. **Tip, apply a layer of water to the card first so the inks blend together well. Dry with a heat tool.
  • Using one of the stencils from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, apply small amounts of Parakeet Party and Azure Afternoon inks over the watercolouring with a blending brush, ensuring that some of the original colours still show through.
  • The three large daisy outlines are stamped over the panel with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
  • Flower centres are stamped with Crushed Curry ink.
  • The grouping of three daisies has been stamped around the edges of the panel with Parakeet Party ink.
  • The stamped panel has been layered onto Basic Black cardstock and then onto a Parakeet Party folded card.
  • The large daisy outline is stamped three times onto a scrap of Vellum Cardstock with Stazon Black ink and the petals coloured with Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends to the back of the daisy petals. It is important that the Stampin’ Blends aren’t applied to the same side as the Stazon ink, as the ink will bleed. Die cut all three with the appropriate die from Cheerful Daisies Dies.
  • The large daisy detailed die has been cut six times from Vellum and coloured with Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blends. I did three in Dark Azure Afternoon and the other three with the light Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Blend.
  • Adhere a light and dark colour detailed daisy together, offsetting the petals, with a couple of Mini Glue Dots applied in the centre part of the daisy only. Adhere to the stamped vellum daisies, again with mini glue dots, but this time you can apply the glue dots in areas where the petals overlap so they won’t show through.
  • Adhere the completed daisies in place on the card front and apply gold sequins (from the Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins) into the centre of the daisies. I coloured the gold sequins with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend to make them more like a Crushed Curry colour.
