Amazing Life
Welcome to my blog on this second sunday of February 2019. Today I am hopping with the Stamping Sunday Second Sunday team, hosted by Sara Levin, the Artful Inker. We are featuring products from the Amazing Life Bundle (which includes the Rectangle Stitched Framelits … and I guess were bundled with the Amazing Life Bundle because they are “amazing”!). You can find them in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue (page 28).
Beginner, Casual and Avid Crafters
Our new mission (should we choose to accept it) for this blog hop is to create projects for the different levels of crafter …. Beginner, Casual and Avid.
Amazing Life Bundle
The Amazing Life Stamp Set is a happy, fun set. I have thoroughly enjoyed using it, with it’s crisp lines and a striking mix of fonts.
The Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies are fabulous and have been getting a real work out since I opened them. The stitching on both sides of the cut line means you have lots of options. You can cut rectangles with stitching along the inside of the edges. Or you can cut rectangular frames with stitching on both edges.
For the Beginner Crafter …
One Whisper White layer and inks, add a strip of Designer Series Paper (this is one of the black and white designs in the Sale-A-Bration Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper) and a length of Basic Black Baker’s Twine. …. a perfect #simplestamping project.
I don’t normally create simple cards, I will admit. So I am totally enjoying this challenge … it is almost like I can give myself permission to stop and let the card alone.
For the Casual Crafter …
This card is for the slightly more experienced crafter, stepping it up just a little. Cutting two rectangles together from Daffodil Delight cardstock create this double stitched frame … superb!! I put a small strip of washi tape on the two dies to hold them in place so the resulting frame is even all the way around. Die cut the stamped piece of Whisper White with the larger of the two stitched rectangles, so it fits exactly behind the frame.
The black and white spotted paper layer is again from the Sale-A-Bration Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. The framed greeting piece is popped up on dimensionals over the Basic Black Baker’s Twine. I went hunting for a suitable bit of adhesive bling in yellow. The best I could come up with was some of the Frosted and Clear Epoxy Drops (carried over from the Holiday Catalogue), which I coloured with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.
For the Avid Crafter
For my Avid Crafter’s projet, I have created a fun fold card (I think it is a flap fold card). It is the same front as on the previous card, however it is mounted onto a “flap” which sits on a larger 15cm square card back.
The black and white spotted paper now has an extra dimension. There is a small Fleur d’lis stamp in the Amazing Life stamp set and I repetitively stamped it with Pumpin Pie ink, using the dots on the paper as a guide.
The embossed dots on the inside layer, show through to the front of the card and this embossing folder is the Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the Occasions Catalogue (Page 25). I used one of the large Stitched Rectangle dies to cut a piece for the insert and stamped it up with the Happy Birthday greeting and another yummy cake.
How fun is this!! I don’t often do fun fold cards, but this one was super easy because it is all based around the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
