Christmas Gleaming Bundle

Today, I am featuring the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set and the Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack. I love the elegant baubles in this Cling Rubber stamp set. You can purchase the stamp set and the punch pack as a bundle at 10% off both.

Beginner, Casual and Avid Crafters

For this hop, I am doing the “Beginner, Casual and Avid” samples, however I have assumed that a beginner crafter would purchase the Stamp Set and Punch bundle … because … why wouldn’t you!?? 🙂

A beginner crafter is someone who is new to stamping, who has very limited tools and wants to create something using just stamps, paper and ink.

A casual crafter has learned the basics of stamping and has acquired some tools. She crafts on average once or twice a month, usually for a purpose such as an upcoming celebration and prefers to use punches over die cuts as she hasn’t invested in a die cutting machine yet. She likes to create both simple projects and projects with a little more technique.

An avid crafter has many tools, including a die cutting machine, and likes to use them all. She knows a variety of stamping techniques and is always wanting to learn more. She crafts often and likes to create a variety of either Beginner, Casual or Avid projects.

Which type of crafter are you?

Beginner Project

My beginner project really is quite simple. Other than the Christmas Gleaming Stamp and Punch Bundle, there are minimal supplies required. For all my projects, I have used some colours that are not in this suite.

Brightly Gleaming Beginner Card

Directions Beginner Card …

  • Stamp the holly image down the centre of a Whisper White Panel in Bermuda Bay ink.
  • Stamped the little dot cluster with Daffodil Delight ink in between the holly.
  • Stamp the Christmas Ornaments with Black Memento ink onto Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Pretty Peacock cardstock and then punch out with the co-ordinating Gleaming Ornaments punches.
  • Stamp the Merry Christmas greeting onto Bermuda Bay cardstock with Black Memento Ink and trim out by hand.
  • Adhere the Ornaments and greeting to stamped layer.
  • I did poke three small holes in the top of the ornaments to thread some Silver Metallic Twine through. I then adhered both ends of the twine at the back of the stamped layer using double sided tape. This would be an additional optional step, but I really like my Ornaments to “hang”.
  • The stamped piece is adhered onto a Bermuda Bay cardstock layer and then onto a folded Pretty Peacock card.

This card uses minimal products:- The Christmas Gleaming Bundle, three inks (Black Memento, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight), four cardstocks (Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock and Daffodil Delight). The addition of Silver Metallic Thread is optional and basic adhesives are used.

Casual Project

The Casual project adds a few additional supplies to the mix, and is definitely towards the more Avid end of Casual. I have added Pretty Peacock and Gold Delicata inks, a Blender Pen for colouring, a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for adding some shimmer to the Ornaments and, as an optional extra, the Crackle Stamp adds some detail to the Pretty Peacock layer.

Brightly Gleaming Casual

Directions Casual Card …

  • Stamp the holly image down the centre of a 5.5cm (2-1/4″) Whisper White Panel in Bermuda Bay ink. Colour the Holly Leaves with a Blender Pen and Bermuda Bay ink. Colour the berries with a Blender Pen and Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Stamped the little dot cluster with Daffodil Delight ink in between the holly.
  • Layer the stamped panel onto a slightly wider Bermuda Bay cardstock layer.
  • Stamp the Christmas Ornaments with Black Memento ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Colour the Ornaments with a Blender Pen and Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock and Daffodil Delight inks. Colour the tops of the Ornaments with a little bit of Delicata Gold ink (I used my Blender Pen for this. Clean well afterwards). Add a layer of shimmer to the Ornaments with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. Punch out with the co-ordinating Gleaming Ornaments punches.
  • Stamp the Merry Christmas greeting with Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and trim out by hand.
  • An optional step is to stamp the Crackle Background Stamp onto a layer of Pretty Peacock cardstock with Pretty Peacock ink.
  • Adhere the stamped piece/layer onto the Pretty Peacock layer, then matt with a Whisper White layer before adhering to a Bermuda Bay folded card front.
  • Adhere the Ornaments and greeting to card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Again I poked three small holes in the top of the ornaments to thread some Silver Metallic Twine through. I then adhered both ends of the twine at the back of the Bermuda Bay layer using double sided tape.

**Note: I used Memento Black ink for stamping my ornaments. This is not a waterproof ink, but if you dry it with a heat tool before applying a light shading with a Blender Pen and ink, the Memento outline will not bleed too much. Otherwise, use a Stazon Jet Black ink, which is permanent.

Avid Project

Okay, so this one might be slightly over the top rather than just Avid! It’s pretty though, yeh?

There are a few more products included here … that Crackle Stamp is featured. There are three embossing powders used, White, Clear and Shimmery Black. I have also included some of the So Saffron Vellum (Perennial Essence Vellum pack) and the Gold Glitter Adhesive Embellishments from the new Christmastime is Here suite of products.

Brightly Gleaming Avid Project

Directions Casual Card …

  • Stamp the Crackle Background stamp with Versamark ink onto Pretty Peacock cardstock. Heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.
  • Wrap a 4.5cm (1-3/4″) wide strip of So Saffron Vellum onto the crackle layer, folding the edges behind and adhering in place.
  • Stamp Holly multiple times onto Bermuda Bay Cardstock with Versamark ink and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Colour the holly leaves with Bermuda Bay ink and a Blender Pen. Colour the berries with Pretty Peacock ink and a blender pen. Polish the images with a tissue to remove ink from the white embossing and fussy cut each image.
  • Adhere the holly pieces, placing some behind the vellum and some over the top.
  • Stamp the Christmas Ornaments with Versamark ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Heat emboss with Shimmery Black Embossing Powder. Colour the Ornaments with a Blender Pen and Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock and Daffodil Delight inks. Colour the tops of the Ornaments with a little bit of Delicata Gold ink (I used my Blender Pen for this. Clean well afterwards). Punch out with the co-ordinating Gleaming Ornaments punches.
  • Stamp the Merry Christmas greeting with Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I used the Stamparatus so I could stamp again over the top with Versamark and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
  • Adhere the Ornaments to card front using a Stampin’ Dimensional in the middle and glue dots around the outside edge. Adhere the greeting to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Again I poked three small holes in the top of the ornaments to thread some Silver Metallic Twine through. I then adhered both ends of the twine at the back of the Crackle layer using double sided tape.
  • Adhere the Crackle layer to a Whisper White cardstock matt, and then adhere to the folded Bermuda Bay Card.
  • Adhere the tinsy Gold Glitter Dots onto the vellum.

So you probs wouldn’t make too many of the avid card at Christmas time, unless you wanted a special card for someone well deserving of all that effort. But I will say that my favourite cards to make are the avid ones.

I am really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the design team members come up with using this amazing suite of products. Here is the full list of hop participants … visit them all and be inspired.
