Welcome to my blog on this second sunday of January 2019, and Happy New Year! Today I am hopping with the Stamping Sunday Second Sunday team, hosted by Sara Levin, the Artful Inker.  We are featuring products from the All My Love Suite, which is one of the new suites in the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

Beginner, Casual and Avid Crafters

Crafting for every level of crafter

Today we are trying something different and creating our projects for the Beginner, Casual and Avid level crafter.

Forever Lovely Stamp Set

As we come up to Valentine’s Day, the Forever Lovely stamp set is perfect for all sorts of love filled projects.  I elected to use the hearts image and steer away from the florals. I have also used non-hearty colours, with Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Balmy Blue being the focal colourway.

This stamp set does come bundled with the Lovely Flowers Edgelits Dies, and they are both very versatile products, however I have used the Stamp Set only today …. and the Heart Epoxy Droplets, which are my most favourite embellishment at the moment.

For the Beginner Crafter …

For the Beginner Stampere

One Whisper White layer and inks  …. a perfect #simplestamping project.  The hearts are stamped in each of the three colours to create an ombre type look. The stamp set is photopolymer and so the images are very easy to position (although I did use my Stamparatus … because I can!).  The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray ink, and the little Heart Epoxy Droplets from the All My Love Suite are coloured with Stampin’ Blends … love!!!

Forever Lovely Ombre

This is a super easy card, finished in minutes!  And believe me, that is highly unusual for this little stamper!!

For the Casual Crafter …

Forever Lovely Casual

This card is for the slightly more experienced crafter, stepping it up just a little.  The Layering Square Framelits dies have been used to cut the Whisper White Squares, and then the hearts are stamped onto each square with Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Balmy Blue inks. Those cute little scalloped layers are die cut from the same coloured cardstock. I love this fine little pop of colour from behind.

The stamped squares have been positioned on a Whisper White panel, and then the greetings from the Forever Lovely stamp set are stamped with Basic Gray ink.  Popping the whole panel up on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals gives the whole thing a little more interest.

Forever Lovely Triple Squares

Now, I mucked the next step up, but as I was creating to deadline, I had to run with it.  That greeting “My Love” looked out of balance, so I decided to add some coloured Epoxy Hearts.  I coloured them with the light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend, thinking it was the closest to Balmy Blue.  But in hindsight, I should have used a lighter colour such as Pool Party or Bermuda Bay which would have been a better match.

For the Avid Crafter

Forever Lovely Avid

Adding some background stamping and tricking up the hearts by offset stamping them, gives this project that little bit extra for the Avid Crafter.

Now I don’t know about you, but I find this effect a little bit freaky to the eye. It is a little bit like a print job that is not quite in alignment.  Maybe that is the Lemon Lime Twist colouring?  I stamped the hearts in Lemon Lime Twist first and then offset the stamp a little bit when stamping the Balmy Blue hearts over the top.  To get each square exactly the same, I used the Stamparatus!  My best stamping buddy!

Forever Lovely Triple Hearts

I added the “Handwritten” background stamp to the Whisper White folded card layer, stamping it with Smoky Slate ink.  This time I used the Epoxy Hearts naked!

Now I enjoyed this whole process of creating cards for all levels of crafters, I took it a step further and created a “boots and all” type card using multiple techniques and adding yet another product, Brusho!

For the Let’s Get Messy Crafter

For the Let's get messy crafter

The little square panels are created with Watercolour Paper and have been coloured with Brusho. The top one is Yellow, the bottom one is Prussian Blue and the middle one is a mixture of mostly yellow with the tiniest sprinkle of Prussian Blue.  The hearts are stamped over the top with Memento Black ink.

The scalloped layers are Basic Gray cardstock, and again, those little epoxy hearts are coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

Brusho Hearts

I have used the “Handwritten” stamp to create the background layer directly to the card front. It has been white embossed this time and then I created a puddle of Brusho watercolour (Yellow and a smidgen of Prussian Blue make this delightful minty colour) and lightly painted around the edges over the embossing.  The patchy type effect is a result of watercolouring on Whisper White card and I really like the look. Buff the embossing when the panel is dry to remove any ink from the white embossing and make the background “pop”.
Emboss Resist Background
This is my style of card … I enjoy the process of creating where the end result could be something totally different to what you envisaged, depending on how the colours mix.

Which is your favourite?

  • Wowza!! First of all, leave it to you Cheryll to totally change things up. Your colour palette is divine and I just love what you have done with those sweet cascading hearts. Over the top my friend! I love that you added a fourth category- that’s where I fit in.

  • Cheryll,
Stamping Sunday – all my love cards – stunning! The best out of all the entries! I would love the tutorial please!
Congratulations – they really are amazing!!!

    • Thank you so much Kim. I will set up the tutorial in the team page! Just so you know, these projects are not in the tutorial bundle as the bundle projects are all exclusive. However I did film the creation process for these projects and will be doing a little video tutorial very shortly! Stay tuned! 🙂 xxx
