If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, you too can participate!  All the details are on Kylie’s blog … this is also where the gallery of projects is today.  And we are looking for your votes to decide who goes through to participate in a blog hop with Kylie in July.

Seasoned With Kindness Host Set

Today I have used one of the Host Sets from the new Annual Catalogue, Seasoned with Kindness.  This is a perfect set for creating cards for your special friends. The Host sets are found in the back of the catalogue and can only be purchased (at the special low rates) with rewards dollars.  So if you have an order for AU$250 or more, don’t forget to check out the Host sets to get the most bang for your buck from your rewards dollars.

It doesn’t look like much when you see the stamp set image, but look at how cool these little pots of herbs are.

Seasoned with Kindness Closer

I will tell you that this card was originally started to enter into the Global Design Project colour challenge (Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red), but that came and went.  All I had was the watercoloured background in Pumpkin Pie and Real Red, which is pretty delicious.

So I kept the colour scheme and used Rich Razzleberry to stamp up the leafy herbs, using the shadow stamp to add depth with Pumpkin Pie ink. Yep, I didn’t colour the leaves, I simply stamped the co-ordinating shadow stamp over the top .. being a photopolymer set, this is dead easy!

Thanks to Pat Tecsa for her Watercolour Background inspiration in her project as guest designer for  Global Design Project.

Seasoned with Kindness Pots

But I am in love with these little pots … stamp the outline in Basic Black and then stamp the shadow over the top in whatever colour you like.  I chose Granite Gray because that is fast becoming my favourite neutral. They are fussy cut, sorry no punch or dies, and adhered over the top of the stamped herbs.

Seasoned with Kindness Greeting

The greeting is delightful (we need to follow this advice every day), but I didn’t have a label die or punch that fit it, so I created my own little stitched label with a square Stitched Shape Framelit. Run it through the Big Shot with the greeting at the top of the square, and then reposition the die so that it clicks into the existing stitches at the height you want it and wind it through the Big Shot, just until you feel the die click.

I am creating this card live on my Stampin’ Up!® group this evening, so let’s hope this die cut label works as well when the pressure is on. Why don’t you pop on over and see how I do?

And it is the inside of this card that shows this is going to a special friend. The greeting is from Dragonfly Dreams, which uses the same font as the Seasoned with Kindness set, so it co-ordinates perfectly. Win win!

Orange Sage

This is a very unusual and rare herb stamped on the inside of my card … Orange Sage!

** Kidding **

The orange coloured leaves looked good on the watercoloured background … not so much on a white background.  But eh!  It is a Whimsy!
