Happy Birthday To You Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set …
I have been dying to use this gorgeous stamp set since I received it as part of my pre-order (as a demonstrator, I get to order new products a month early … best perk ever!!).
So … what have I taken from Shawn’s card?
I used Pretty Peacock in the background, along with a little touch of gold. The Pretty Peacock panel has been ombre’d with a Sponge Brayer before being die cut with the Stitched Lace Dies, first the all over lace panel die, and then the border die to make that delightfully elegant border. Then I cut a strip of Gold Foil Paper with the same border die and layered it behind the Pretty Peacock panel.
Then I stamped and coloured the gorgeous floral cake image (Happy Birthday To You) with Memento Black Ink and Stampin’ Blends. Once coloured, I die cut the cake with the Stitched Rectangle Dies (in the same way that Shawn has using the Stitched Nested Label dies).
The Stampin’ Blend colours used to colour the cake are Petal Pink Light and Dark, Calypso Coral Light and Dark, Mint Macaron Light and Dark, and a little bit of Pool Party for the cake stand.
Casing the Catalogue
As a starting point for my card today, I cased a card project from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue using the Happy Birthday To You catalogue. The only real difference between my card and the card on page 8 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue is the colours.
I have used the Stitch Lace dies in Mint Macaron on a Mint Macaron card base, and coloured the floral cake with Ivory, Mint Macaron Light and Dark, and Soft Seafoam Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends.
However from here, I have then switched everything up using Shawn’s card as my inspiration! It is a fun way to create!
This one is gorgeous pastel colours … I am totally loving this beautifully detailed cake image. Perfect for birthdays, engagement, wedding and any other very special occasion!
As opposed to the slightly brighter project created for Global Design Project #220.
Pop on over to the Global Design Project page to see an amazing array of projects casing Shawn’s card. It is always interesting to see how people interpret this challenge.
Remember, you can’t earn the Happy Birthday To You Stamp set until 3rd January, 2020 …. but you can purchase retiring Holiday Catalogue items (remember that one finishes on 2nd January and many items that are retiring are selling out fast) … and also the newly listed items from the Clearance rack, some of which are at an amazing 60% off.
