Welcome to my blog …. today I am participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight. Kylie sets a theme each month and highlights Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s blogs from around the world. If you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, you too can participate! All the details are on Kylie’s blog … this is also where the gallery of projects is today. And we are looking for your votes to decide who goes through to participate in a blog hop with Kylie in June.
Vote for your favourites
So as you may have guessed, our theme this month is very specific. May is a special month for Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin’ Up!®. She has asked demonstrators to think of ways in which we can make a difference in the lives of others and to come together on the 16th May to give back to the community by volunteering or by giving of our time to help others.
This month we are creating and blogging in support of Sara, creating a card to show her our appreciation for all that she does. And all I can say is I hope Sara likes Mint Macaron as much as I do, as it features heavily in my card!:)
Make a Difference Stamp Set
The Make a Difference Stamp Set is a new stamp set coming up in the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue in June, but you can get a hold of it now as part of the Share What You Love Bundles. It is perfect for personalising your cards. I have created the greeting on my card using the individual script letters from the set. The set is a whopping 143 stamps, and includes a sans serif block letter style alphabet and numbers as well as the upper and lower case script letters and numbers.
I have used the fabulous Lovely Floral Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on a Mint Macaron panel of cardstock to create this subtle and yet oh so lovely floral feature! This folder is a “dynamic” embossing folder, and it has different levels of impression in the design to create a really interesting textured effect. I have lightly sponged over the top with Mint Macaron ink, and then added some Wink of Stella to give that little bit of shimmery sheen to the flower.
The very pretty Designer Series Paper in the background is from the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. Love, love, love this heavy weight paper in 6 double sided designs. Also available in the “Gotta Have It All” Share What You Love bundle in May, you are going to seriously love this paper.
So there you go … all that is left to do is to pop this card in the post to Sara! Oh and for you to head on over to Kylie’s gallery of projects and vote for your favourites. I am in spot 22, but I have had a peak at the gallery and there are many wonderful creations amongst them, so please vote for your five favourite projects here.
And remember, life is better when you give back! Share what you love this month!
