Welcome to my blog on this second Sunday of January. That means it is time for a Stamping Sunday blog hop hosted by the fabulous Sara Levin. The theme of the hop is “Sale-A-Bration Favourites” and our guest designer for this hop is Andrea Tracy-Tucker. Very exciting and I can’t wait to see what Andrea has created.
Celebrate You Sale-A-Bration Thinlits Dies
It is quite difficult for me to choose a favourite Sale-A-Bration item this year … and in the end it isn’t a stamp set (although there are many great sets) … it is the new Level 2 Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. And of course, I have paired the dies with the co-ordination stamp set, Amazing You!
Whenever I see the wonderfully elegant die cut “Amazing” from this set, I immediately think of my very best friend Jayne. She is truly amazing with a big heart and an exuberant personality. She lives far away so we don’t get to see each other very often, but she and her husband chose to spend this last Christmas with us which made it one of the best Christmas seasons we could have asked for.
Jayne not only introduced me to my now husband, she also was instrumental in organising our wedding two years ago. This photo was taken just before the ceremony and is very precious to me, so I have chosen to create a special keepsake with the Celebrate You Thinlits dies.
I used Gold Foil, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst cardstock for the die cuts.
The banner panels behind the image are created with papers from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper in Berry Burst and Night of Navy. The central banner is Whisper White stamped with the floral image from Amazing You stamp set in Night of Navy ink. I elected to use this image because the very first accessory I purchased for my wedding was these simple little floral fabric hearts and that set the theme for the whole event, which was held in our front yard at home.
Duncan says it look like no one came … they did thankfully (this was before the event).
See here are a few people arriving now! 🙂
Parts of the floral image peek out from behind the banners, and some little gold hearts from the Painted Love Vinyl Stickers highlight the gold in the die cut words.
The current challenge in my VIP customer facebook group is to create a project with two different gold elements and this framed image fits that criteria beautifully.
I also created a card to co-ordinate with the framed piece.
This card features many of the same elements as the framed keepsake!
Make sure you hop around and check out what everyone in the design team has created today … it will be interesting to see what everyone’s favourite Sale-A-Bration item is and which one comes in as the overall favourite.
Here is the list of blog participants this month.
Thanks for stopping by!
