Kylie’s International Blog Highlight is happening again … the January theme is to use our favourite product from either the new Occasions Catalogue or the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Whoah!! Do you now what a hard choice that is! Almost impossible to choose just one favourite!
Kylie’s Blog Highlight is a monthly event where Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world place images of their projects into a gallery here. You can vote for your favourites! And of course, I would love it if you would vote for me. I am in slot 34 (right down the bottom). To vote, click on the button below, to go to the gallery, then hover over the pic of the card in the gallery until the little heart turns red. This month will be a great resource if you are looking for ideas for new product and I am really interested to see what products everyone selects as their favourite.
Petal Palette Bundle (Stamps and Dies)
In the end, I just went with the Petal Palette Bundle. I fell in love with as soon as I saw it in the Occasions Catalogue, as did almost everyone else! I know …. it is flowers and birds … surprise, surprise that Cheryll likes that one, right!!! But this set includes some seriously gorgeous, shabby chic style images and lots of wonderful fonts in the greetings. The little bird is going to be popping up everywhere.
This card came about by way of a happy accident. I had some of these little flowers stamped and die cut for another project and they had come to rest on a sheet of this Designer Series Paper (Petal Passion).
The image and the paper are made for each other …. and all the papers in this Designer Series Paper are black and white designs and so are adaptable to suit whatever project you are working on. I chose to use a Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo colourway for this card.
[mks_pullquote align=”right” width=”300″ size=”18″ bg_color=”#08bdb1″ txt_color=”#ffffff”]That little nest of Silver Metallic Thread is just for the little bird!! I am however, not sure she looks very impressed with my nest building abilities![/mks_pullquote]
I have coloured the little bird with Stampin’ Blends for this project, and she has her own die in the thinlits set.
The lovely label die is also from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies and is perfect for many of the greetings in the set.
And then, I couldn’t help but try a few different colourways.
Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach
This one is Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach. I find Calypso Coral is always such a difficult colour to photograph … it is nowhere near this red, more a bright orange.
I thought the black metallic thread was a great contrast with these colours.
Sweet Sugarplum and Fresh Fig
This one is Sweet Sugarplum and Fresh Fig … yum!! In this card, the little bird has totally given up on my metallic thread nest building skills and flown away to find a much less whimsical home. And I have used the “I Just Love You” greeting, which also fits perfectly in the little label die cut.
And the insides are just as cute! The black branch image is from the stamp set.
Vote for your favourites!
So head on over to Kylie’s blog and check out the gallery of projects … and don’t forget to vote for your favourites! You can choose five projects to vote for ….. that will be almost as difficult a choice as me deciding which was my favourite item from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogues!
One of my Inks and Whimsy team members, Colleen Johnson, has also entered a wonderful card in the highlight using the Party Panda stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and I know she will appreciate a vote as well. Colleen is at slot 23.
** NEW* Petal Palette Online Class
Jenny Hall and I loved the Petal Palette stamp set and Petals & More Thinlits dies so much, we got together and created an online class using these products. It includes 6 exclusive project tutorials in PDF form, along with six video links for those of you who work better with visual instructions.
You can get this Online Class, along with the paper and embellishments to create the six cards, FOR FREE when you purchase the Petal Palette Bundle (stamp set and dies) from myself (or Jenny Hall if you are shopping in the USA) up until 31st January 2018.
A purchase of this bundle also qualifies you for one Level 1 Sale-A-Bration item for free.
If you are shopping in my online store, don’t forget to ensure the No Contact option is NOT selected or I won’t know where to send your Tutorial and kits.
And don’t forget to use the January rewards code with your order to receive a handmade card and little extra gift from me at the end of the month.
If you already have the Petal Palette Bundle, you can purchase the Online Class PDF with video links separately here.
And if that isn’t enough creative inspiration for you, a purchase of AU$50 from me in January will also get you a Tutorial Bundle from the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop Design Team. That’s 6 exclusive tutorials featuring Brusho and Sale-A-Bration items in PDF format … absolutely free. And guess what … two of the projects feature the Petal Palette Bundle, so this tutorial bundle works perfectly with the Online Petal Palette Class.

These are the supplies for the Bermuda Bay card. Change up the cardstock and ink colours for your chosen colour scheme. If you are in Australia, clicking on the image links below will take you to that item in my Online store. Happy shopping and don’t forget to use the January rewards code.
