October Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop – Black and White plus One
![]()

Welcome to the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop for October … this month the theme is Black and White Plus One other colour! This just proves that you don’t always need to pull out every ink pad you own to create a card! I chose Crushed Curry as my “plus one”.

Pieces and Patterns
I have used the Pieces and Patterns Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! (Wood Mount or Clear Mount), along with the co-ordinating Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper. This Designer Series Paper is part of the buy 3 selected packs of Designer Series Paper and get a fourth selected pack fro free. See below for more details.
This is a card design I have used before, in a swap back in May 2016 when the Annual Catalogue first came out.
I love this little mushroom stamp … and I also love the crazy little dots, which can be whatever your imagination likes on any given day … bubbles, a crazy path, sand, stars. Today, they are just crazy, imperfect dots, helping my mushrooms keep it all together. We all need dots like that every now and then.

The mushrooms are stamped in Basic Black Archival ink and (very roughly) coloured with a Blender Pen and Crushed Curry ink.
The crazy dots are stamped with Crushed Curry ink, with just a few of them coloured (again very roughly) with the blender pen and Crushed Curry ink.
Intentional Imperfection
I promise the rough colouring was intentional … it matches the patterns in the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper used on the bottom of the card, which has a trendy “outside the lines” effect.

The greeting is also from the Pieces and Patterns stamp set and is stamped in …. you guessed it …. Crushed Curry! I love this reverse print effect of white text on a solid colour, no embossing required!
Usually this greeting piece is in an imperfect circle shape, but today I have pulled it into line and die cut it with a circle die. Then I added back a little “imperfection” by off-setting another black circle behind and adding a messy swirl of Black Metallic Thread.

Add a little touch of Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon and the front of the card is complete.
The Inside Story ….
The crazy dots are carried over onto the inside panel, along with another greeting from the Pieces and Patterns stamp set.

I can’t wait to see what other colours everyone chose for this Black and White + one challenge … I wonder if anyone else chose Crushed Curry?
Thanks again for stopping by.
