Mini Pizza Boxes
Hello and welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop!! If this is your first time visiting our hops, we’re a group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators sharing creative projects on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. This hop is the second sunday hop for October and we are featuring the Mini Pizza Boxes from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue. These are fabulous for gift giving all year, but especially as we come up to Christmas.
I have two projects for you today …. both are a little whimsical! Scroll down for a surprise at the end.
Deers in Sweaters
Merry Snowflakes and Season’s Seashells
My first project today is a little box of mini cards featuring the Merry Patterns stamp set.
The Mini Pizza Boxes come flat, with all the score lines ready for folding. I have stamped the box prior to folding, using the pine leaf sprig from the Merry Patterns set and Garden Green ink. I then gave the whole box a quick swish of Garden Green water colour using an Aqua Painter.
The top of the box is features the two step stamp “’tis the Season” … the first step is to stamp the word Season, with each letter coloured individually with Stampin’ Write Markers. The next step is to stamp the outline and remainder of the greeting over the top with Versamark, and then emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. So pretty! I used Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist markers.
A couple of die cut pine leafs from the Pretty Pines and a splattering of Clear Wink of Stella completes the outside decoration.
I spent an enjoyable morning “knitting” multicoloured sweaters for my deers to grace the little notecards which go inside the Pizza Box. The deers are stamped with Smoky Slate ink, and then the sweaters have been stamped separately, coloured direct to stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers before stamping. Trim out the sweaters and adhere over the Smoky Slate deer. A perfect fit every time!
The greeting is gold embossed over a swish of water colour ink, and a splatter of clear Wink of Stella completes the mini note cards.
The little 3″ x 3″ envelopes are a perfect fit for the Mini Pizza boxes, and without any dimensional embellishments, quite a few of the mini note cards and envelopes will fit in the box. The below pic is six notecards and envelopes and you can see there is still plenty of room.
Can you see the gloss on the inside of the box? The inside has a non porous coating, food safe and perfect for giving yummy biscuit treats as gifts, without any oils permeating the outside of the box.
Merry Snowflakes and Season’s Seashells
For my second project, I have trimmed the top of two pizza boxes and joined them together to form a double pizza box. The outsides of the boxes have gold and white checks, courtesy of Cheers to the Years Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Each side of the boxes feature a circular element … this side uses one of the large sentiments from the Carols of Christmas stamp set, gold embossed with a little Real Red highlight.
The other side is the ‘Tis the Season greeting from Merry Patterns, stamped in Real Red, and then the outline gold embossed over the top.
And what would you put inside this double box affair?
A little diorama … Christmas from one side of the world to the other!
I will say, this is not something you would create every day, but I sure did have a lot of fun. And it will make the perfect “special” gift for someone on the other side of the world … if I can work out how to get it to them! 🙂
I hope you have enjoyed my little bits of whimsy today. I have already seen a few sneak peeks of the other projects in the hop and it would be well worth your while to hop around and take a look. Don’t forget to leave comments as you go … everyone appreciates a little bit of blog love! 🙂
Here is the blog list ….

Thanks so much Carol, I appreciate you stopping by and commenting! xx
What a great idea Cheryll!! A little diorama … Christmas from one side of the world to the other! This ideal for anyone to send overseas. I think my cousin in the UK may get this one. With your permission Cheryll, would love to CASE your creation. I really love it. You did really think outside the pizza box! Well done my friend.
Cheers Dianne
Hey Dianne … Thank you, and most definitely CASE the diorama! I would love to see what you come up with! 🙂 xx
Amazing projects and I love all of them. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Martha! xxx
I love this! I saw the gif of this and thought it was the DIY version of the mini pizza boxes. I also like the idea of the 2 versions of Christmas in the diorama. If I were going to ship it, I think a bubble wrap wrapping and taped and then in an envelope or box.
Thanks so much Tracey. Yes, I am thinking bubblewrapped in a box would be best. xx
Wow Cheryll I love what you have created with the Mini Pizza box, very cleaver.
Thanks you Colleen! 🙂
Love all of this!!! Full of fun & whimsy! You are very creative!! Thank you for sharing your art!
Thank you so much Anna! xxx
These little boxes are absolutely stunning. How much time would you say you spent putting one together? 🙂
Hi Cindi, I spent about 4 or 5 hours in total I guess, just pottering around in my craft room, colouring and cutting, gluing things together. I had to leave the palm tree sit and let the fine tip glue pen bits dry well before I could brush away the excess glitter and adhere it. The most fiddly bits? Fussy cutting the palm trees and gluing on the sequins! It was designing on the go, trying this and trying that. xx
Oh my Cheryll that diorama is just stunning, what a brilliant idea!
Thanks so much Melissa. xxx
Love these. Way to think outside of the box fir the diorama! ?
Thank you so much Nikki. xx
This is genius, Cheryll! Love, love, love your diorama!
Thanks so much Danielle! xx
OH WOW Cheryll I adore that little diorama box! Your note cards are gorgeous too, but that little diorama just melted me. Love love love! Whimsy is WONDERFUL 🙂
🙂 Thanks so much Kim! How amazing are all the projects in this hop! Always wonderful hopping with you! xx
Your Merry Patterns box is cute with the deer’s fancy sweater. But, I’m seriously crushing on your diorama box!
lol … I had such a lot of fun with both of these projects Sara … and learned how to create and upload a gif at the same time! I love a day when I get to be creative and learn something new all in the one day! 🙂 Thanks for including me in the team! xx
