A Total Shift from Pastel Pink for GDP076
![]()
You might have noticed I have been on a bit of a “pastel thing” lately … however you can’t get much further from pastel pink than the colour scheme for this card. Created for the Global Design Project challenge this last week … GDP076 is a “Case this Card” challenge featuring a card from Kylie Bertucci. With Global Design Project, CASE means “Copy and Selectively Edit”.
The elements I took from Kylie’s card are the colour scheme … Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Real Red, plus I used a floral stamp set (Blooms & Wishes) and flipped the card to horizontal.
This was a very simple card to create … and considering I would never think of using red and browns together, I really love this.
But look at that freaky effect at the bottom of the card!! The reflection on the table and the tone on tone stamping on the bottom of the card has created an optical illusion and it is a little difficult to tell where the card begins and the table ends.
I continued the diagonal spray of flowers on the top layer onto the folded card underneath, however I used Crumb Cake ink on the Crumb Cake card. I sort of “guesstimated” where to stamp the flowers on the Crumb Cake card, so they are far from perfect … hey come on, it was Sunday, I was home alone and the craft studio was blissfully quiet! It was a no stress day.
As per Kylie’s card, I have layered the stamped feature panel onto Early Espresso cardstock and then popped up the layers on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting is from the Hostess Set, Iconic Occasions (Wood Mount or Clear Mount) and is white embossed onto Early Espresso card. Add a few white sequins to add a subtle touch of texture, and my work here is done.
Oh, except for the inside … completed with another cluster of flowers in the same colours.
I really wanted to get my card for the Global Design Project done earlier in the week, but last week went pear shaped early on and never quite regained any sort of equilibrium. But I am happy to have had a crafty day yesterday to catch up and put ink to paper.
The supplies used to create this card are listed below … you can purchase any of these supplies from my online shop by clicking on the image. Don’t forget to use the Host Code for March to share in the goodies at the end of the month.
