Creating Kindness Blog Hop; Celebrate
![]()

Hello and welcome to another Creating Kindness Design Team Blog and Video Hop. January’s theme is Celebrate and our guest designer this month is the fabulous Sara Levin from www.theartfulinker.com. That’s a reason to celebrate before we even get to a project!
There is so much to celebrate at the moment, I was spoiled for choice as to which celebration to create a card for. However a recent visit over Christmas by very good friends from our previous home town in Queensland was the very best way to celebrate the holiday season. Having such close friends around at this special time was a timely reminder to celebrate friendships, no matter how far away you live.

This greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set from the new Occasions Catalogue says it all. We had so much “good stuff” with our friends and we certainly celebrated the season in style. Jayne is a chef … say no more! I am currently celebrating being one size larger in clothes!

The greeting has been stamped in Dapper Denim on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Triple Banner Punch.

The floral feature is from the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits dies. Don’t you love blue flowers … Pool Party and Dapper Denim flowers to be precise. I have backed up the flowers with various leaf images and die cuts from these same sets. You can see it better in the previous pic, but there is an embossing die in the Eclectic Layers Thinlits dies which gives a fine embossed image, so I have used that to start off the chaotic leafy background.
I LOVE this Eclectic bundle … again reason enough to celebrate that we have this fabulous set in the Annual Catalogue to play with.

And check out the clear Faceted Gems in the centre of the flowers. This was totally the perfect finishing touch which brought this card to life! I love these close up photos … as I get older my eyesight doesn’t allow me to see the detail in many things and I rely on my close up pics to show me the detailed beauty of many products. Look at the finely detailed texture in the background image of the flower … amazing!

The background on the Pool Party folded card is created by repeat stamping one of the greetings from the Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set. This set is built totally around the exuberant greetings in great fonts. “Today We Celebrate Wonderful Brilliant Fabulous You!” in a rectangular block. There is some masking and stamping off going on to create this effect, but it is relatively easy.

And for the insert, I used the same elements as the front of the card, just in a less exuberant manner. I am not sure that there is such a thing as “less exuberant” … I think that might be an oxymoron! The greeting is from a fantastic set in the Annual Catalogue called “Just Add Text” … if you don’t have this set, you really need it. Each greeting is in a different font and they are such HAPPY greetings.
So we well and truly celebrated while Jayne and Brian were visiting, and Duncan and I certainly celebrate their life long friendship!
I have created a video showing how I created this card here as part of the Creating Kindness Design Team Video Hop. Many of the Design Team create videos for this hop and it is a visual feast from around the world. Wow … I am effusive tonight, aren’t I? But truly, grab a cup/glass of your favourite beverage and enjoy a great video hop.
The next blog in the line up is Jay Soriano of Mitosu Crafts in the UK. Jay’s projects are always drool worthy… you really need to check out and follow his blog! Amazing!

And here is a full list of blog participants for this month’s hop.
I know that the design team members and our guest artist would really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. It is a lot of work preparing the projects and videos for the hop, and it is always very exciting waiting to see what everyone has created, then a little sad when it is all over … and then you realise that there is next month to look forward to! 🙂
Celebrations make me grateful that I have been able to enjoy a date, event or season. Now that our guests have departed, I miss them and am feeling melancholy. This blog hop is just the pick me up I need right now, and I am celebrating that.
Now for all the news and updates …. SALE-A-BRATION HAS STARTED!! Now that is a reason to celebrate! If you are in Australia and want to get free stuff …..maybe that greeting should read
“Celebrate the Free Stuff”
you can shop with me here. Or if you not in Australia, our Creating Kindness Design Team have you covered, with demonstrators from all over the world. They would be more than happy to help you grab some product and get creating!
