Rays of Light background stamp has been combined with Two-Tone Flora Bundle for Colour INKspiration challenge #136.

The Colour INKspiration challenge is a great one to get your inspiration flowing. It is very easy to enter the challenge. You don’t need a blog, you can simply post your card image in the facebook group. So why not join us this time around?
Our CI#136 challenge features Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Garden Green and
Sahara Sand. The challenge parameters are to use all four of the challenge colours (or if you don’t have the exact colour, you can substitute a close alternative). In addition you can use neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand and Basic Black, or metallics.

Rays of Light Stamp Set …

This amazing background stamp has been sitting on my desk for a while now, and I finally used it for a project the other day for the first time. IT IS AMAZING!!! The stamped “rays” are so full of texture, and the white rays create such a stunning contrast. So I have pulled it out again to use for Colour INKspiration challenge #136, combined with my other new favourite, Two-Tone Flora Bundle from the new Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up!®.

I have focussed on Blushing Bride for this card, with touches of Mint Macaron, Garden Green and Sahara Sand.

Design tips:-

• Rays of Light image has simply been stamped with Blushing Bride ink onto a white panel and then trimmed down to fit on a Blushing Bride cardstock matting layer. I added some extra oomph to the Blushing Bride layer by adding Blushing Bride ink around the edges with an ink blending brush.
• I don’t normally do “wonky layers”, but this time I adhered a Sahara Sand panel to a folded white card front on an angle, and then adhered the Blushing Bride layers at the opposite angle. I like that it sort of creates a “drop shadow” look.
• The flowers are all images from Two-Tone Flora, stamped with Blushing Bride ink in full strength for the outline and the two step fill in part stamped off Blushing Bride for a lighter tone. I did this using the stamparatus so I could add extra depth to the centre of the flowers by adding Blushing Bride ink to the centre of the stamp with a sponge dauber and stamping again over the top. The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron and Garden Green. All have been cut out with the co-ordinating dies.
• The sentiment is from the Something Fancy stamp set … another new set from the Mini Catalogue. I have heat embossed it with white embossing powder on Sahara Sand card and then fussy cut it with Paper Snips. There are co-ordinating dies in the Something Fancy die set, however they are a little large and covered up too much of the floral feature, so cutting close to the words worked well and wasn’t too tedious.
• The Baker’s Twine bow is white twine, coloured up with Stampin’ Blends. There are no Stampin’ Blends in Blushing Bride so I used light Flirty Flamingo instead.
• And the sparkly embellishments are the 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds.
