Floating & Fluttering for Colour INKspiration #97

Floating & Fluttering Stamp Set is just one of the list of many products used for my card for the Colour INKspiration challenge this fortnight.

Colour INKspiration Colour Challenges

Welcome to my blog. Today, the Colour INKspiration crew are kicking off a new colour challenge for the coming fortnight.

Floating & Fluttering with Rococo Rose, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry.

With all the excitement of the Butterfly Bouquet Bundle just recently, some of the other butterflies in the Stampin’ Up! range are getting left on the shelf. That stops today in my craft room!

I have also created for a Tic Tac Toe challenge in my team group, so lots of parameters to follow besides the amazing colour challenge. The three other challenge components are “Ink Blending or sponging”, “add something gold”, and “use ribbon or twine”.

UEICR Technique …..

An old technique, but a good one ….”Use Everything in Craft Room” technique.

Sometimes it is very liberating to not be constrained by using co-ordinating products, let yourself run wild and use many different products in the one card …. just because you can!

There are lots of elements and patterns to this card …. which could be very overwhelming if not for the controlling element of using the same colours throughout.

The feature strip on the front, has first been ink blended with all four challenge colours, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Rococo Rose, before creating texture with one of the Greenery Mini embossing folders. (Ink Blending …. Tick!)

I layered this blended piece onto Calypso Coral card, but to add a little more interest, I die cut the piece with one of the larger frames from the Ornate Frames dies, so as to have just one die cut edge. These layers are then wrapped with the Gold Twine from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo (retiring). (Use Something Gold and Use Ribbon or Twine … Tick and Tick!)

The sentiment layers are die cut from the Hippo and Friends Dies (have you seen this die set? The nested sentiment layers are amazing!) The larger label has been ink blended with Rococo Rose and then stamped all over with the grouping of butterflies stamp and Rococo Rose ink. The small label has been stamped with the word “thanks” (from Peaceful Moments Stamp Set) in Calypso Coral ink, before adding a very light blending of Crushed Curry around the edges.

And of course, the butterflies come from Floating and Flourishing Stamp Set, stamped with Calypso Coral and coloured with a selection of Stampin’ Blends in the challenge colours (except for Crushed Curry …as Stampin’ Blends don’t come in this shade, I used Dark Daffodil Delight …. shhhhhh … don’t tell anyone!)

And did you notice the Crushed Curry Designer Series Paper in the back ground. As if we don’t have enough pattern in this card, I pulled out the new 6″ x 6″ Patterned Designer Paper Stack in the Regals and used one of the Crushed Curry sheet. This is one of the designs.
