Abundant Beauty Decorative masks have been used to create some bright, happy florals, inspired by the Colour Inkspiration Challenge #154.

Welcome to my blog. Today’s post is for Colour INKspirations Colour Challenge #154. Our inspiration pic for this challenge was chosen by our very talented team member … Rose Packer. Yvon Doensen is our guest designer for this challenge and I love her project featuring these colours.
By the time I post this project, Colour INKspiration Colour Challenge #154 will be just about finished, but if you jump on over to the Colour INKspirations Facebook page here, you will be able to be inspired by the projects the Design Team have created using these colours.

Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks …
I have been wanting to use these masks for a little while, and Berry Burst seemed like the perfect colour to make bright and cheery flowers. They are so easy to use with our blending brushes or sponge daubers, and getting a wonderful shading is effortless. Here you can see the gorgeous full spectrum of Berry Burst ink from full strength to the beautiful lighter shades on the outer petals.

These are the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. They are a set of 7 masks (or stencils as I know them). Four of the masks create the flowers, and then there are three background patterns as well.
The masks have been used in three different ways … the larger background die has been used with Embossing Paste and a Palette knife to add a random texture to the background. When dried, I added colour to the top panel with Pool Party ink and a blending brush. The flower and leaf masks have been used to create those gorgeous flowers using inks suing Berry Burst, Poppy Parade and Pool Party inks and blending brushes, and the centre detail in the flowers was inked up with White Craft Ink using a sponge dauber, and then heat embossed with White Embossing powder.

The sentiment is die cut from the Love For You dies … I love how delicate these dies are. I did use Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Basic White card stock before die cutting … makes adhering soooo much easier. And because they sort of blend in with the background a little, I did add some Wink of Stella over the top to give them a little shine (hard to see in the photo).
The strip of crumb cake card between the top (coloured) and bottom (uncoloured) layers gives a good visual separation, and there is also a wrap and bow of Linen Thread to add a little extra decoration. The “bling” is a few of the white Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins (thank you Monica) coloured up with Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends.

I created this card in a Youtube Live this last weekend as a “create along”, so I had a version for those crafters who might not have the Embossing Paste or the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. I used the Cheerful Daisies bundle and the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder. Same colours, just different product … and I quite like the different look.

It was a fun 90 minutes of crafting … yes, my lives do tend to run a bit long! It was my first attempt at going live in Youtube, so I was a tad nervous. You can watch the annotated video where I cut out the entire first 10 minutes where I am making sure I am actually live here.
And if you would like to create along … here is the supplies and measurements list in both metric and imperial, so you can have your supplies ready.

Sasha says ….
Taking pics of our garden, and when I looked back at them, I noticed Sasha in the background trying to lift the latch to the chicken yard!! Sprung!!!
She hates it when I give all those perfectly good scraps to the chickens and not her!
