Good Morning Magnolia and Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Paper combine for a last shindig … both these amazing products are retiring with the Stampin’ Up!® 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.
Welcome to my blog on this second
Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper
There are so many favourites from the Annual Catalogue … I eventually settled on these two products. Both are still available at the time of writing this (in the South Pacific market anyway).
Beginner, Casual and Avid Crafters – Good Morning Magnolia
For today’s hop, I am showcasing how products can be suitable for all levels of crafter. No matter which category you fall into, there is a project here for you. The laser cut paper is amazing for all levels of crafter, and I have focussed on fussy cutting for all projects instead of die cutting.
A beginner crafter is someone who is new to stamping, and will be looking to create with minimal supplies and easy techniques.
A casual crafter is someone who thinks that this paper crafting lark is pretty good and is keen to move beyond the basic supplies, maybe get a punch or two … and attempt some more challenging techniques and layering, maybe start including embellishments.
An avid crafter is feeling the passion, knows that getting into the craft room is an inexpensive form of therapy, and is accumulating lots of “things”. She is also not afraid use lots of different products on one card … and take that little bit extra time on one project.

A Quick Foxtrot … for the Beginner Crafter Card
Hmmm …. “where’s the gold” I hear you ask. One of the things I like the best about the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper is that the reverse side is an off white, great for a more neutral look, or adding your own colour! And the new Ink Blending Brushes are perfect for this.
The background is one of the gold laser-cut background panels flipped over and adhered to Sahara Sand card. To adhere the panel to white card, applying glue with a wedge of sponge is another great technique to add to a beginner’s tool kit.
And that amazing feature panel is also one of the elements from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut sheets. Again flipped over to the neutral side, and then I covered the central panel with a post it note and use the Ink Blending Brushes to colour the leaves with Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. I also added some Blushing Bride to another element to bring in a highlight colour.
Let’s Mambo … Good Morning Magnolia for the Casual Crafter Card
For my casual card, I used one of the background pieces from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. Flip it over and then apply Garden Green and Granny Apple Green ink to the reverse side with Ink Blending Brushes. So simple and so effective over white cardstock.
The large magnolia flower is stamped with Sahara Sand on Basic White card. I created a mask of the flower part of the image with a fully sticky back post it note … then I was able to colour the leaves easily with ink blending brushes … you don’t have to worry about the ink going outside the lines as this one is fussy cut. Once the mask is removed, the flower can be gently coloured with Blushing Bride and a little touch of Daffodil Delight.
Get your Groove on … for the Avid Crafter Card
My avid project also uses the Good Morning Magnolia large flower, but this time I stamped it twice and the flower is cut out separately from the second image and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Again, I have reversed one of the background panels for the background layer, laid over a piece of Sahara Sand card stock. The patterned background is created using one of the foliage elements from the Forever Gold Laser Cut paper as a stencil and applying ink over the “stencil” with Garden Green and Granny Apple Green inks, just around the edges of a Basic White panel of card.
This time, there is just a touch of gold in the card. I added some pieces of gold foliage along with some ink blending green leaves.
