Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set is a new stamp set in Stampin’ Up!®’s Jan to Jun 2021 Mini Catalogue.
Today, I am using it for a couple of cards for the Colour INKspirations Challenge #92.

Colour INKspiration Colour Challenges

Welcome to my blog. It’s the first Colour INKspiration challenge for 2021 and it is very exciting to be participating as a Design Team Member this year! We are up to Challenge #92 … and guess what … the inspiration pic is one that I took at Canberra’s Floriad event a few years ago.

Colour Inkspiration #92

Enjoy the Moment with Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness and Garden Green.

I have created two cards for this challenge, I wasn’t totally happy with the first card, below. I am having a LOT of fun using the new (for Stampin’ Up!®) Blending Brushes, but I figured I wanted not to “mix” the colours when blending, so used the torn paper sponging technique by applying colour into a cut out circle onto my card front. One of my new team members has created amazing colour swatches using this technique, and she inspired me to try this with the Blending Brushes. Thank you Helen.

Torn paper ink blending …

Enjoy the Moment for Colour Inkspiration #92

I still managed to “blend” the colours somehow, and the Garden Green sponging around the outside of the layer is a very toned down Garden Green. It looked a little bland, so I added some Smoky Slate blending around the outside of the circle by placing the circle I had die cut back over the top of my sponged circle.

While I had the circle cut out piece in place, I created some splatter with Frost White Shimmer Paint, Daffodil Delight ink and a little bit of water, so the shimmery spots appear to be in the background behind my sponged and very bright orb …. are you getting the idea that this was a work with no real plan! 🙂

I wanted to create a silhouette look over the top with the natural elements from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set, but because they are not solid, I coloured them with Calypso Coral, Merry Merlot and some Basic Black and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. One of the seed pods has been stamped on a separate piece of card and then fussy cut and mounted up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

…… and it still looked a little bland. So out came the Gilding Flakes. I applied some glue with a good old Two Way Glue Pen, the one with the roller ball gives you some control over where the glue goes. And you need it because those Gilding Flakes stick to everything that is remotely sticky!!!

Blending Brushes + circular mask …

Seeing as I wasn’t totally happy with the first card, I decided to create another card, this time not worrying about whether the challenge colours mixed a little when blending.

Enjoy the Moment Card No 2 for CI92

So this time I created a circular mask by punching a 2″ circle out of a post it note. Then I went to town blending …. starting with Calypso Coral immediately around the mask, then adding Daffodil Delight, blending into Magenta Madness with a touch of Merry Merlot right around the edges. I knew this would need a bit of space to retain some of the colours’ integrities, hence the square card.

Once I pulled off that mask (always a wow moment), the white circle was very bright. Solution … add a very light sponging of Daffodil Delight ink.

Incorporating the torn paper sponging technique again, I have created a base with a couple of layers of Garden Green. Wow! I was surprised how good that looked.

I have used the same stamps again, but coloured them up slightly differently. There is no Garden Green Stampin’ Blend so I used Old Olive and added some Balmy Blue over the top to make it a little more “Garden Greeny”. I also used Calypso Coral with touches of Cherry Cobbler (instead of Merry Merlot) and Basic Black.

I absolutely loved the Gilded Leafing on the last card, so again added to this card. And to finish off and bring the seed pods at the top right and the bottom left elements together, I added a spray of dots (these are out of Forever Fern stamp set) in both Calypso Coral and Basic Gray (both are stamped off for a lighter effect).
