The Sailing Home Bundle is used to create a simple but striking thank you card.

Welcome to my blog …. earlier this year I was very honoured to present some of the new Annual Catalogue products at Stampin’ Up!’s Onstage event in Auckland. My simple little card was created for the display board for the Come Sail Away Suite of products, without a sailing boat or lighthouse in sight.

Come Sail Away Seaweed Thank You Card

The sweet 10cm x 10cm note card appears to be simple in construction, however, there are a few out of the ordinary elements. The only stamping is the Thanks greeting, stamped in black ink on Crumb Cake Card. The feature piece of black seaweed is a fabulous die from the Smooth Sailing Dies.

To create the soft and delicate seaweed in the background, I took the waste piece leftover from die cutting the seaweed, used it as a stencil and sponged Crumb Cake ink onto the Crumb Cake layer multiple times.

And the layer peeking out from behind is the seaweed patterned paper from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. If you know this paper, you will know that it is black and grey in colour. I brayered Crumb Cake ink all over the piece to achieve the brown toning.
