Stamping Sunday Blog Hop – Oh So Eclectic
![]()

Welcome to my blog on this lovely Sunday, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums and Moms out there. Today I am here with the Stamping Sunday blog hop team for our May get-together. This hop is hosted by Sara Levin and we are featuring our favourite carry over items from the current Stampin’ Up! Catalogues. Both the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue and the 2018 Occasions Catalogue are drawing to a close …. but there is much excitement about the new upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.
I was so very pleased to see that one of my favourite stamp sets, Oh So Eclectic, is returning in the new catalogue.
Oh So Eclectic

This is one of those stamp sets, along with the c0-ordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits dies, where everything you create looks fabulous. You just can’t go wrong.

The background layer is Whisper White cardstock embossed with the Layered Leaves Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, just to create a subtle texture in the background.
In keeping with the Eclectic theme, I have created blue flowers … Bermuda Bay flowers to be exact. The dies cut the backing piece and then add the second detailed die to cut out the wonderfully detailed overlay.
A Blue Bouquet ….
The background leaves and dots are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake … those little dots are supposed to be for the centre of the flowers, however they make a perfect “filler” for backgrounds.

I did die cut the backgrounds to the flowers out of white card and then sponged with Bermuda Bay ink. There is a stamp in the set that will stamp the background, however this time I have sponged the background to get a much lighter shade of ink.

The inside story …
Always stamp and die cut some extras when you are working on the card, to utilise on the inside of the card.

Gable Gift Box For You
Maybe not so eclectic, but how adorable are these little Gable Gift Boxes?! They come already die cut and flat packed, 12 to a pack, and it literally took me about 30 seconds to fold and assemble the box. This one is silver, but in the new catalogue, they will come in Silver and White.

I have used all the same elements as I did for the card, just adapted to fit the Gable Box. The Bermuda Bay layer is a 5cm strip cut from one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Bermuda Bay cardstock. This fits all the way around the Gable Box with just a smidgin of the silver box showing at on back corner.
If you don’t have 12″ x 12″ cardstock, then simply cut one 5cm x 12cm strip (for the back) and one 5cm x 20.5cm strip (for the front) from an A4 sheet of card, adhere them to back and front of box and wrap the edges so they overlap at the sides, which is what I did with the white strip of card. The white strip is a narrower 3cm, and I have stamped up to match the card background.

Bundled at a discount …
For a very short time (until 31st May 2018) you can purchase both the Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set and Eclectic Layers together as a bundle for 10% discount.
There are many bundles that will no longer be available at the 10% bundled price when the new catalogue goes live on 1st June, so make sure you check out the retiring list so you don’t miss out on bundled pricing or retiring items.
