Welcome! It is Scrapbook Sunday and we are hopping! We are a line up of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators using Stampin’ Up! product for memory keeping. The theme for February is Love and I am very much looking forward to checking out all the different layouts around this theme as I am working on my wedding album at the moment. You may be starting here at Cheryll Miller/Sense of Whimsy or you may have come from the blog of Tina Riddle. The full list of hop participants is down at the bottom of this post.
My wedding album is a small one … a 6″ x 8″ album with pocket pages. I elected to work on this size album because most of my wedding pics are 6″ x 4″ snaps taken by my guests. Our wedding theme was “cottage garden” as we were married in our front garden in Spring, so roses and flowers were everywhere.
Springtime Foils
I have continued on with the floral theme as used in the previous 6″ x 8″ layout here, however this time I have used the new Sale-A-Bration Speciality Designer Series Paper “Springtime Foils”. This 12″ x 12″ paper is sumptuous card weight sheets with gorgeous foil designs embossed on gloss white. One of the designs is a floral and I have coloured with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut selected images to use in my layout. Colouring on the gloss with the Stampin’ Blends is interesting, you can see the colour moving around on the gloss which makes for some funky effects.
Brusho Colour Crystals
The large letters are die cut with the … wait for it … the Large Letters Dies! I coloured up some watercolour paper with Brusho to achieve an Ombre effect before using that piece to die cut the letters and a selection of hearts (Everyday Jars Framelits and Sweet & Sassy Framelits). The little “Love is in the Air” banner is from the Lift Me up stamp set, gold embossed on a scrap of the Brusho background.
Painted Love Vinyl Stickers
I have also added extra heart elements in gold with the Painted Love Gold Vinyl Stickers. Scattered throughout the hearts are yellow and pink Enamel Dots and Glitter Epoxy shapes. It is all a little bit more “over the top” than I normally am, however despite all my efforts to keep it simple, our wedding ended up being over the top fun and frivolity, so it sort of suits.
The full list of hop participants is below. Jerim Dickens is up next. Jerim has an exciting and innovative style and you won’t want to miss her layout.

Thanks so much Sharon … a pleasure hopping with you!xx
Gorgeous! I love how you used pocket scrapbooking and created such a cohesive two-page layout. Very inspiring. The Brusho is awesome.
Thanks Pam! If I am being honest, using the Brusho came about because it was sitting on my desk from a previous project. Getting the colour mix right on the block/palette was the tricky bit. Start off with just a little bit of red and an even tinier bit of blue, mix with water. Paint a light layer, then add a dash of extra crystal to the mix, paint the next shade, and so on until you end up with a very dark red colour for the last layer. xxx
Those Springtime Foils are so gorgeous, and the perfect choice for these beautiful pages. LOVE.
Thank you Dena! Great hopping with you.
Lovely layout – I love the metallic touches!
Thanks so much! xx
Awesome pages. I love the 6×8 size. So achievable. Thanks for sharing the brush technique.
Thanks Charlet … yes that is why I like 6″ x 8″ size. It is more card sized and I can wrap my brain around that sort of sizing way easier. xx
Not sure which elements are my favorite yet…. it’s all fantastic. The gold stickers truly set thing off! Well done 🙂
Aw … Thanks Jenny!! xxx
