Case This Card Colour Challenge #CTC022

Taking part in challenges is a great way to get creativity flowing … today I have created a card for Jessie Holton’s Case this Card Colour Challenge.
Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry are happy, bright colours, with a touch of softness in the So Saffron. I have been enjoying the Rose Wonder set lately, exploring many different ways of colouring the large open rose image.
The rose has been sponged with So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry. As it happens, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry are colours in the new Watercolour Pencils, so I added some shading to the rose petals with the pencils and then blended with a blender pen. I cheated a little bit with the yellow … Daffodil Delight is the only yellow pencil in the Watercolour Pencil set, so I added a touch of the Daffodil Delight to the centre of the rose. I hope Jessie won’t mind me deviating from the plan slightly. 😉
The background paper is So Saffron from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack, layered onto a Rich Razzleberry layer and a Whisper White Thick folded C6 card. The leaves are diecut from Calypso Coral cardstock and I added the strips of Calypso Coral to ground the rose image.
The rose has been hand cut and mounted onto the card front with Dimensionals. The greeting comes from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set … this is such a useful set when you need an unobtrusive greeting. I stamped the words with Basic Black ink onto So Saffron card and cut them out. They blend in with the dotty background and don’t take anything away from the feature rose image. A scattering of gold sequins adds a little touch of bling.
Love these colours together … this is a colour scheme I will keep in my faves!
Thanks Jessie, pop on over to Jessie’s blog to check out the other entries this week.
