GDP019 – Did I Miss It?

Talk about last minute Nellie! The Global Design Project Challenges are a little bit addictive … are you playing along? I have been away this weekend and all the way home, I was thinking, “Can I make it home, make a card, photograph it and get it posted before the time runs out?”.
The challenge this last week was a theme .. “Love”. I have been using the “Going Global” stamp set (which comes in rubber, wood mount or clear mount) as my “go to” Valentine’s card set this year, moving away from hearts and red/pink tones. So I stuck with that and came up with this relatively easy little card in Green and Blue tones!
Just quickly, I have brushed the Clear Wink of Stella pen onto the splatter stamp out of the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (rubber, wood mount or clear mount) to give a subtle sprinkle of shimmer to the background. I used my Stamp Positioner to stamp the World Image from the Going Global set, sponging the stamp alternatively with Wild Wasabi ink and then Lost Lagoon ink and stamping multiple times until I achieved the depth of colour I wanted. Then I stamped over the top with Versamark and clear embossed. Use of the stamp positioner integral to getting the stamp in exactly the same place every time. The “love” word in the banner is part of a larger greeting out of the Going Global set. I white embossed this first, sponged over the top with both Lost Lagoon and Wild Wasabi inks and then trimmed out that part of the greeting. Added a sprinkle of Basic Rhinestones over the splatter, and layered onto Wild Wasabi and Kraft Cardstock to finish of the front of the card.
And I also white embossed the “You Mean the World to Me” greeting on the inside panel and sponged same inks over the top.
Hopefully I made it … now to clean up the mess left behind by my whirlwind cardmaking frenzy!
xx
