Dainty Delight Dies are one of my favourite die sets from the Stampin’ Up!® Jan – April Mini Catalogue and I am so thrilled it is carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue out in May. So today I am using it (with a host of other products) for our Stamping Sunday blog hop.
Welcome to my blog on this second
As it is Autumn now in the Southern Hemisphere, I have used an Autumnal colour scheme for my project. Usually I create a Beginner, Casual and Avid card … but time is short and so I have created just the one project today.
Dainty Delight Dies …
The Dainty Delight bundle is from the Jan – April 2023 Mini Catalogue and is available bundled at 10% discount on both until 1st May 2023. Thankfully, both stamp set and dies carry over to the new Stampin’ Up! ® Annual Catalogue out in May 2023, but these won’t be available as a bundle past then.
An Autumn coloured card …
Here in South Australia, some of our local flora is starting to change colour. We do get lots of reds and oranges, but at the moment, I am noticing some of the leaves are starting to appear “less green”. Now if my flowers were as brown as these, I would consider them pretty much had it and ready for a good prune. 🙂 But I love that “dried arrangement” look.
I have used a multitude of products for this card ….
The background is embossed with one of the Online Only Exclusive products, one of the Embossing Folders from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. I used Watercolour Paper spritzed with water. I swiped the inside of the embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink before putting the watercolour paper inside the folder and running through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. Then I mixed up some water and Wink of Stella liquid in a Mini Spritzer and sprayed the inside of the embossing folder with it. I wiped the excess shimmery liquid off the flat parts of the embossing folder, placed the already embossed piece in the same place on the folder and ran through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine again. Theoretically the shimmery bits sit on the areas that the ink didn’t hit previously.
I used another Online Only Exclusive product, the Irresistible Blooms Dies … that is the “Dots on Strings” die in the background, die cut with water colour paper and coloured with Black Memento ink and Crumb Cake ink (spritz the watercolour die cut and apply inks with finger or sponge dauber).
The die cut six sided shape is from the Sentimental Park dies … another product that is returning in the upcoming Annual Catalogue. I die cut a piece from the retiring Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and to keep it firm I used the same die and cut from Soft Suede (a retiring colour) cardstock. They have been adhered together. I will miss Soft Suede a lot, it is a fabulous darkish brown. I also added a very slight edging of Soft Suede ink around the outside of the stitched panel.
The circular shape has been die cut using a stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes dies and the Layering Designs Vellum (a retiring product).
The leaves and flowers are from the Dainty Delight dies, die cut from Water colour paper and water coloured with Soft Succulent ink (you guess it, retiring) for the leaves and great “dead flower” colours for the blooms … Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.
The sentiment is from the Online Exclusive Stamp Set “Irresistible Blooms”. I white heat embossed the sentiment and then cut each section separately by hand. **Tip – emboss a number of the sentiments so you don’t have to worry about accidentally cutting into a different section when fussy cutting.
