Everyday Arches Bundle … online exclusive product from Stampin’ Up!®

Welcome once again to Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, travelling around the world through every time zone. You may be starting your trip Around the World here or you may have come from the blog of amazing artist Rochelle Laird-Smith. Always excited to see what Rochelle has created.

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators.

Thinking Outside the Box …

This month we are challenged to think outside the box with our creations … use a product in a different way than intended, create in a different style than we would normally, use colours that we wouldn’t normally.

In celebration of our 5th year, we are continuing with a series of “team member focus” blog hops where we will be CAS(e)ing an individual team member for that blog hop. Our team member focus this month is the fabulous Mikaela Titheridge from the UK! Mikaela is an outstanding creative and is always coming up with new and innovative ways to use Stampin’ Up! product. It wasn’t difficult to find a project to CAS(e), it was a little more difficult choosing which one. In the end I chose this quirky card where Mikaela uses the Around It All Dies. You can see Mikaela’s project in full here.

Everyday Arches Bundle …

I don’t have the All Around It Dies … that’s my bad as they are an intriguing set of dies. I pulled out the Stylish Shapes Dies which are included nested circles … but that is a bit predictable! And this hop is all about thinking outside the box, right?

So I went in search of another nesting die set, and came up with the Everyday Arches Dies.

Everyday Arches

Using Mikaela’s card as inspiration, I die cut varying shapes in the Everyday Arches dies from Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper. This is a Black and White patterned paper, so I coloured it up with Ink Blending Brushes and Granny Apple Green, Lemon Lime Twist and Petunia Pop inks. I created the darker edge with Secret Sea ink.

Everyday Arches

The background is Lemon Lime Twist with a light touch of Secret Sea inks, applied with an ink blending brush. Splatter is created with a Secret Sea Marker. Once I had worked out the positioning of the arch shapes, I stamped the word “thanks” with Secret Sea ink (stamped off) onto the background. Then I stamped the words with full strength Secret Sea Ink onto the DSP arches.

The arch shapes are adhered to create various levels using Stampin’ Dimensionals, Liquid Glue and Mini Glue Dots.
Once adhered, I have added White Craft Ink splatter with gay abandon!!

Everyday Arches

I followed Mikaela’s lead with the feature sentiment. I used sentiments from the Everyday Arches stamp set, white heat embossed onto black card and fussy cut. I backed it with two of the small lattice shapes from the Mixed Labels Dies. I also added some Granny Apple Green die cut leaves and Petunia Pop flowers from the Impressions Abloom Dies.

A final bow of white baker’s twine finishes the card.

So what do you think? Too outside of the box? This was a very enjoyable card to create, sometimes it is great to just let go and free create something a bit unusual that you are really not sure will look okay.

This is the Around the World on Wednesday design team! I am very excited to see everyone’s projects this month and check out how we are all celebrating the seasons around the world … oh and to see everyone’s CAS(e) of Mikaela’s work.
