Cottage Rose Bundle …

Abigail Rose Suite

For my blog post project today, I have used the Cottage Rose stamp set, the Cottage Flowers Dies and the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. I do love the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper and it’s soft neutral colours, but I also love that because the colours are neutral, you can change them up with some simple ink blending.

Design Tips ….

  • The Crushed Curry patterned paper at the top of the card is one of the neutral designs from Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper, coloured up with an Ink Blending Brush. Because the base colours are Very Vanilla and Grey Granite, the resulting coloured paper will be more muted/vintage rather than “bright”.
  • I used Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture to the panel of Basic White cardstock.
  • The Bermuda Bay scalloped edge is from the Penned Flowers Dies (these go with the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set, and I use the scallop border die ALL THE TIME).
  • To create the 3d look flowers, I used the largest of the dies from the Cottage Flowers Dies. This die cuts shapes from a panel of card and you can use this die and the resulting pieces in a number of ways. I used Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and gave it a wash of Bermuda Bay ink. And then cut the die twice to get a good selection of flowers, leaves and stems to use to build up my flowers.
  • I layered up three of the flower shapes to create each flower. To give the flowers a focal central point, I used the large floral image from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set, and stamped just the very tip of the sprig of flowers into the centre of the top flower with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment is gold embossed on white card and then trimmed/fussy cut into separate words.
  • The ribbon is the White Crinkle Cut Seam Binding cut in half lengthwise to create two very fine soft pieces of ribbon and I also added some White Baker’s Twine and tied them all together in one extravagant bow.
  • The gold Adhesive Butterflies was my final touch.

September Tutorial Bundle …

Below is a sneak peek of my tutorial project … it is created in similar colours and supplies to the project above, but utilises different dies for a much softer, more delicate feel.
