Colour and Contour is the stamp set featured my my blog post today. Welcome to Around the World on Wednesday. The theme for this month is “Step it Up”.
With this fun monthly hop, we travel around the world through every time zone. You may be starting here or you may have come from the fabulous Cazz Boylan’s Blog.
Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.
Colour and Contour is a perfect stamp set for beginner through to avid crafter …
We are able to interpret our themes in any way we like, using just a few parameters. I chose to do my favourite thing and take a very simple card, step it up into the casual crafter range, and then go all out and make it an avid, nutcase stamper card.
Which category do you fall into?
Set of cards using Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink colour combo for the flowers.
I created this set of cards in my Whimsy Wednesday Creative Live on Facebook today …. you can check it out here.
The beginner or simple card was a breeze to create. It is all just stamping and a little bit of ribbon.
The card base and layer are Very Vanilla. The floral stamp is stamped with Crumb Cake for the outline, and then the flowers are stamped with Fresh Freesia, daubed with a little bit of Polished Pink directly to the stamp. The dots are a stamp from Colour and Contour, and they are stamped with Sahara Sand.
The sentiment is inked with Crumb Cake and “Amazing” is coloured with Polished Pink ink and a sponge dauber directly to the stamp before stamping. The ribbon is the Fine Art Ribbon, neutral woven with gold … such a pretty ribbon.
Let’s have a closer look ….
Step it up to a casual crafter card …
A few more layers/steps for a casual crafter. The die cut tag is from the new Tailor Made Tags dies. I stamped the flowers directly onto the Sahara Sand tag, along with the dots and the sentiment.
I have used the single flower outline image to create the feature background, along with more of those dots. It is difficult to see here, but I did add some strokes to the flowers with Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, and clear Wink of Stella to the centres of the flowers.
And then take it to the extreme, with an avid version of the card …
Working on Sahara Sand cardstock this time, and a Very Vanilla Tailor Made Tag, It is all the same elements, just re-arranged. I have added the small flowers from the Hydrangea Dies, die cut from Polished Pink shimmery vellum. 2021-2022 In Colour Faceted Gems in Polished Pink embellish the centres of the small flowers.
Change up the colours ….
For this set of cards, I use the same cardstock, but I did change up the flower colours, using Fresh Freesia and Rich Razzleberry for the shading in the centre of flowers.
I am so excited to see how all my fellow AWOW Team Members interpret the theme this month.
Next up, you are heading across the world to Danielle Kassing’s blog in the Nedlerlands, a long way in distance, but just a click away in our AWOW hop …. I believe Melissa is working with yellow also.
