Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper is brand new and free – what a fitting way to kick off the first Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop – a celebrations of all things new! New Year, new blog hop, new product!

Welcome to my blog, and to the NEW Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop. Every month, a group of paper artists who love Stampin’ Up product will get together to share, inspire and have fun. You may have come here from Sharon Hashimoto Burkert’s blog … what a talented act to follow … or you may be starting here. Make sure you follow the Next Blog links below to follow along on the hop.

Thank you to Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist for organising this hop for us.

Here is my “something new” project …

Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper …

The Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper is NEW and only available for FREE with a purchase of AU$90 during Stampin’ Up!®’s Sale-A-Bration (January and February).

This card is something a little NEW for me! Usually I am an inker and a stamper, but this card is made with fussy cut blooms from the Designer Series paper. The flowers are super easy to fussy cut, so it didn’t really take too long to whip these out.

The flowers are grouped behind, around and on top of a circular piece of Basic White Thick cardstock (largest circle in the Stitched Shape Dies), to which I have applied some Embossing Paste through a stencil. Once dry, I applied some Seaside Spray ink with a NEW Blending Brush. Super easy for a great effect.

New Blending Brushes are amazing!

I adhered the flowers and embossed circle to a Basic White Thick folded card .. and to be honest, it looked a little bland. So I took the Blending Brush and Seaside Spray ink and blended colour around the outside edges of the card … yep, after the flowers were on the card front. These brushes are so amazing … when you want really subtle colour, just hold the brush further back on the handle and apply colour with a light touch. The colour showed up well on the White cardstock, but didn’t really show on the fussy cut flowers.

Simply Succulents Sentiment

Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper

The Sentiment is from the Simply Succulents stamp set, stamped with Night of Navy ink. The cute stitched sentiment label is from the co-ordinating Potted Succulent Dies.

I am so excited to see how the Stamping INKspiration blogging team are showing us something “NEW” in their crafting life! Rochelle Laird-Smith is up next, click on the next button to head on over to her blog.
