Welcome to my blog … today I am posting a challenge card for Colour Inkspiration challenge #71.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #71

In addition to these four Stampin’ Up! colours, you can freely use Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, metallics and skin-tone blends. This is a really simple challenge to enter, just create and post into the group on facebook!

I have used Painted Poppies for my challenge card, again! And there is a very good reason for this!

Painted Poppies for CI71

This colour challenge saved my bacon ….

I do a weekly Facebook Live in my Stampin’ Up! Group … Whimsy Wednesday. Last week, I created a card for my live which just didn’t work for me. And try as I might to fix it, nothing worked.

Badly designed card ….

The heavy black centres in the flowers don’t do much for the Blackberry Bliss layers. The card was very unbalanced, and so I had to add some leaves in the lower right corner. Originally I had 3 flowers only and that made it even more unbalanced, so I added another flower and having an even number is really bugging me.

What to do? I have a limited time to prepare projects and didn’t really want to start from scratch, so Colour INKspiration challenge to the rescue. I simply recreated the card with a few strategic changes in the current Colour INKspiration colour combination.

I think you will agree, the difference is vast!!

Highland Heather, Pool Party, Gray Granite, Pear Pizzazz

Highland Heather ink used for the Poppies, Pear Pizzazz Ink used for the leaves, Pool Party cardstock is used for the background layer and the ink splatter and Gray Granite ink used for the greeting, and also picked up in the die cut foliage included with the floral arrangement.
