Floral Essence ….
Welcome to my blog on this second
Today I am
Stampin’ Up!® 2019-2021 In Colors
Stampin’ Up!® 2019-2021 In Colors

The new In Colors are a mixture of very soft shades through to rich deeper colours. And while it might not appear so at first, they do co-ordinate very well.
Beginner, Casual and Avid Crafters

Today, I am again featuring Beginner, Casual and Avid projects, all using the lovely Floral Essence stamp set. While I am definitely an avid crafter, I do like the simple projects. They allow you to feature solely on the stamps and inks, to get a true appreciation of how beautiful the images are. Which type of crafter are you?

The Floral Essence Stamp
For my first three cards, I have used the Stamp Set only.
Pretty Peacock for the Beginner Crafter

Creating with Stamps, Inks and Paper only, this card truly embodies the whole concept of #simplestamping … and it really did just take a few minutes to create. I used Whisper White Thick card for the card base, and just the one ink colour, Pretty Peacock.
Pretty Peacock is quite a dark colour, perfect for the outline image. But a little too dark for the detailed solid flowers, so I stamped off first to create a lovely softer shade.

Seaside Spray for the Casual Crafter

This card is a monotone design, featuring Seaside Spray ink on Seaside Spray Cardstock. The flowers have been stamped up and then the large open flowers and leaves have been shaded with a Blender Pen and Seaside Spray ink.

The flower centres have been “dotted” with Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and Whisper White Craft Ink and a Blender Pen. I also added little trios of white dots around the flowers with Whisper White Craft Ink.
And isn’t that ribbon absolutely gorgeous?! It is called Scalloped Linen Ribbon and it comes in all five of the new In Colors.

Rococo Rose For the Avid Crafter

For this one, I have white embossed the flowers onto Rococo Rose cardstock. Again I added shading to the open line flowers and leaves with a Blender Pen and Rococo Rose ink. The white embossed solid flowers just pop off the page.
I cut the bottom of the panel with a die from the Magnolia Memory Die set before adhering the panel to a Whisper White Thick top folding card base. The feature of the card is the little matching border in Whisper White, created by cutting the same border die twice.

To finish this card off, I added Fine Tipped Glue Pen to the flower centres, and set aside for a few hours to dry thoroughly.
All in together …

So we are not forgetting Purple Posy and Terracotta Tile, I have created this very different look card using the co-ordinating Perennial Flower Punch. I white embossed heaps of the three-petalled flower image onto four of the In Color card colours, punched them all out and then adhered them in groups of three, to make nine petalled flowers.
Then it was just a matter of punching out some leaves from Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Leaf Sprig Punch, adhering everything onto a panel of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper and stamping up a greeting (from Good Morning Magnolia stamp set). The little label die is from Stitched All Around dies.
Which is your favourite?
I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the design team members come up with utilising the new In Colors. Here is the full list of hop participants … visit them all and be inspired.
