Hi all, I hope your week is going well. Monday has overflowed into Tuesday here in my eternally messy craft room! My “Messy Monday” project is a variation on this Going Global card in a previous post … a slightly more feminine version using spritzing with stencils technique.
And it really isn’t very messy, is it! 🙂 The messy part is the spritzed stencil background panel, and truthfully, it doesn’t have to be messy (except when you don’t take enough care while spritzing and overspray everything on your craft desk … yep, I did that). **Note: Use the spray box when spritzing! **
This card uses the Balloon Celebration stamp set (Photopolymer) and the Balloon Bouquet punch … also available as a bundle at 15% discount. This is the set which will be featured in February 2016 Product Club. The Happy Patterns (Pack of 4) are in the Annual Catalogue … Page 157.
I have created a quick video showing the Stencil Spritzing technique. I lost my voice half way through this (getting over a throat thing), so you don’t even have to listen to me yapping on for most of it!
You can’t really see the shimmer on the background in the pic below (however watch to the end of the video to see how pretty it is). As per the previous Going Global card, I have sponged and stitched the Basic Gray frame, and embossed the greeting in white.
I have used the fantastic Wink of Stella Clear Brush … this is truly an amazing new tool available in the Occasions catalogue. It comes in clear and gold and I am truly hooked! I have to stop myself giving everything a subtle lick of shimmer and shine!
I have tied the balloons off with Silver Metallic Thread … fiddly but so worth the effect.
These balloons are created in a slight different way to my previous projects using this set and I really like the 3D effect. This is such a versatile stamp set, with so many options for creating different balloons, especially when teamed with the Balloon Bouquet punch.
Finish off with a couple of Melon Mambo sequins and this is a very joyous birthday card!
