Oh So Eclectic …
Welcome to my blog today … today I am participating in the weekly Global Design Project Challenge. This week it is a CASE challenge, and we are CASE’ing this fabulous card from Steffi Helmschrott. Anyone can enter as long as you can upload your project into the gallery. Click on the graphic below and go check out this week’s gallery … I love seeing what everyone’s take is on the Designer’s project.
CASE’ing a card
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
When you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colours, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own. Sometimes your card may turn out to look very similar and sometimes it may stray far from the original look, but still have one or two elements that inspired you.
Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set

Today I have pulled out an old favourite stamp set, Oh So Eclectic, and the co-ordinating Eclectic Layers dies. Steffi’s card really intrigued me and it appears that she has used water colouring to add all that delicious colour.
I started by water colouring a panel of watercolour paper with rainbow colours, added some splattering in the same colours. When it was totally dry, I stamped and embossed the flower outline with White Embossing Powder and die cut with the co-ordinating die. The leaves are die cut from another panel of watercolour paper, swished over with some Granny Apple Green ink and splattered to give texture.

The ink colours I have used for this card are:
- Melon Mambo
- Pumpkin Pie
- Daffodil Delight
- Granny Apple Green
- Pacific Point
And I used ink refills in a palette. Just a drop or two, then add some water and you are ready to swish yummy ink everywhere with an aqua painter.
