Creating kindness Design Team

Welcome to the Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop for February. The theme of the hop this month is “birthday”.ย  And guess who is our guest designer this month!!

Miss Louise Sharpe!

Louise is amazing! Her style is classy with sass! Check out her blog here.

Hello Cupcake!
Hello Patty Cake!
Hello Ice Cream Stack in a Weird Little Cup with Cake!
Hello Yum, whatever you call it!

I am totally loving all the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets this year, and the Hello Cupcake set is great for birthdays. Even if you start with a patty cake (Australianism) and somehow morph into an ice cream stack, but forget that you started with a patty cake, and so now you have a triple decker soft serve ice cream stack sitting on a patty cake base with cake in there … this set is fun to play with!!

Hello Cupcake

The samples in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue are wonderful … the one with the triple-decker soft serve ice cream cup (sans cake because Stampin’ Up! concept artists actually think out their projects before creating them) makes me salivate in anticipation of that big juicy “lick”.ย  So this is my take on the cupcake masquerading as a triple-decker ice cream dessert.

Frosty White Embossing

Frosty White Embossing Ice Cream

I embossed the ice cream swirls with white embossing powder and then sponged my “flavours” over the top with a sponge dauber ….ย  Pineapple Flavour (So Saffron), Bubblebum Flavour (Balmy Blue) and Tangy Orange Flavour (Grapefruit Grove).ย  The “sprinkles” are Basic Adhesive Sequins … Oh okay, so that doesn’t sound so yummy … how about “Cotton Candy Crunch” sprinkles. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hand cut my ice cream and the little cup (also known as a dual purpose receptacle for yummy stuff) for this project … and I know that many of you HATE fussy cutting …. so here is the good news!

Call me Cupcake Thinlits Dies

As a limited edition offering in March only, there will be co-ordinating dies available for quite a few of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. And the Call Me Cupcake Thinlits Dies will mean you never have to hand cut your ice cream cones again!ย  Woohoo!ย  And there is a Cake Stand die and a Cake Stand Cover die as well, along with candles to go on the cake, plus some other “cakey” accessories!

The other Sale-A-Bration sets which will have co-ordinating dies are Lasting Lily and So Hoppy Together.ย  If you can’t wait, then these die sets are available now to Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.ย  Talk to me about how easy it is to join up, get heaps of free stuff and become part of our very creative and social community.

I have created a video showing the creation process for this odd little stack of ice cream. Or should that be an odd little video showing the creation of the ice cream stack.ย  Click here to head on over to You Tube.
