Gallery Blooms Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® … if you can’t tell, it is one of my favourites!

Welcome to our 190th challenge at Colour INKspiration. Our inspiration image for this challenge was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member Nikki Spencer.

Our guest designer for this challenge is Yvonne Spikmans Van-Bruggen. Yvonne is such a fabulous paper artist and I can’t wait to see what she creates with this simple but intriguing colour combination.

CI#190 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7 pm (AEST/AEDT) on Monday 7th July, 2025.

For more details on how to participate in this fun colour challenge, scroll down to the bottom of the page.

It’s a lovely card, but it’s such a shame you spilt ink all over your project, dear!

Cheryll’s husband

Gallery Blooms Stamp Set seems to be my “go to” stamp set just lately. And for me, this is a relatively simple card with all the elements on just the one layer. Including a little bit of ink blending and lots of splattering, my wonderful hubby always says “It’s a lovely card but it’s such a shame you spilt ink all over your project!”.

The basic white card has been ink blended with all three shades, Basic Beige, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze. Then I spilt ink … aka splattered in the same three colours over the top.

In addition to the Gallery Blooms Stamp, I also pulled out a retired set “Notes of Nature” … it has this gorgeous background stamp and also some splatter stamps (which added some larger splattery bits to the front).

The large Gallery Blooms flower has been stamped in Memento Black ink and then I coloured it with Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends. Mixing the two shades has given me a brown colour, but I quite like it. You can see the true Cajun Craze colouring in the background inking. I did add some Wink of Stella into the flower petals just to “shooze” it up a bit.

Brushed Brass Butterflies add a touch of elegance, and a sentiment from Textured Notes white embossed on black card, finishes off the project for this colour challenge.

So grungy, dead looking flowers on a spilt ink background … what’s not to love!! 😉 Seriously, I love this card and it was super quick and easy to create.

INKspired to join the challenge?

Why don’t you join in the challenge with us? It is an interesting colour combination and a lovely challenge graphic. You don’t have to create something dead looking … proof of that is in the other designer’s projects … check out the CI190 Designers Album here. You can also add other neutrals such as Very Vanilla, Basic White, Basic Black to your project along with metallics. We also allow ‘Ivory’, ‘Bronze’, and ‘Natural Tones’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute – They are tough colours to substitute, but the retired Sahara Sand will work instead of Basic Beige and a Terracotta shade instead of Cajun Craze. And who doesn’t have Crumb Cake, right??? Then upload it to the Facebook group here.

We can’t wait to see what you create! This challenge finishes at 7:00pm on Monday July 7th.

  1. This colour combo is perfect for this set! Love the way you’ve built up the background. Or rather, the way you’ve spilt the ink. 🤣
