Love of Leaves Stamp Set and the Stitched Leaves Dies are some of my favourites in the Stampin’ Up!® Aug to Dec 2020 Mini catalogue.
Welcome to my blog … my project today was created for my VIP Customer Group Facebook Live last week and I took the colour inspiration from Colour Inkspirations Challenge #83.
Bumble Bee, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White and Basic Black
I have been exploring different ways of colouring the leaves from the Love of Leaves stamp set. For this project I have applied watercolour to the stamp itself to create the multi-coloured leaves, using Bumble Bee and Mossy Meadow inks.
- I used the stitched background die included in the Stitched Leaves Dies on the Bumble Bee card front to create a subtle background texture.
- I have used Shimmery White cardstock to stamp the leaves as it handles watercolouring well.
- A strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock and a wrap of Linen Thread adds a little extra touch.
- The watercoloured leaves are coloured using the Stamparatus and Water Brushes. And that fabulous stitching on the leaves is a feature of the Stitched Leaves Dies, and the beauty of the stitching being a separate die on it’s own for each leaf shape is that you can add it to leaves stamped directly onto the background layer.
For yet a different way to colour these fabulous leaves, see my Whimsy Wednesday Creative Live from last week here.
If you haven’t visited the Colour INKspirations facebook page, before, make sure you take a look. And maybe pop a card into the colour challenge!
