Welcome once again to Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop, travelling around the world through every time zone. You may be starting here or you may have come from the blog of amazing artist Rochelle Laird-Smith … I always find it slightly daunting following Rochelle! 🙂

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop is the brainchild of Angie McKenzie, a wonderful friend and amazing paper artist. My name is Cheryll Miller, and I am so delighted to be a part of this varied and talented group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

This month, we are “Never Ever Growing Up”, a theme challenge which will challenge me to step away from my traditional floral and foliage!

Zany Zoo bundle …

And you can’t get any further from florals than the Zany Zoo stamp set and die bundle. This fun and quirky stamp set just makes me smile! I think I know which quirky animal I am … definitely the knitting Granny Alpaca. Which one are you?

Let’s go party … yeh, yeh, yeh, yeh!!

That’s the turtle singing!! 😉
This stamp set and die bundle is definitely a great one for kids … but I think it is also a great stamp set for older friends and family … a great reminder to keep your sense of humour and be a little bit “zany” every day!!

Zany Zoo Bundle

There is a lot going on in this card …. it’s a pretty frenetic party!!

The Zany Critters are stamped with Memento Ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. They all cut out beautifully with the co-ordinating dies.

The party location is four panels of Basic White card, coloured with Ink Blending Brushes and ink in Fresh Freesia, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Gorgeous Grape. I splattered the panels with water once inked up … the water splats push the colour aside as Stampin’ Up! Classic Inks are die based.

Then to decorate, I added a couple of fringed bunting pieces, die cut with the fringing die from Beautiful Balloons dies. Basic White card was coloured up with the same coloured inks as used on the background panels before die cutting the fringe.

For the sentiment, I stamped directly onto the splattered panel (before I adhered to front of card) and die cut with a little double edged stitched square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. These dies give a stitched edge to both the die cut piece and the piece from which the shape is cut. Then it was popped up with dimensionals to add some interest and depth to the sentiment.

So which party animal were you in your youth, and are you still the same party animal now?
Are you a knitting granny, a dancing diva, a tuneful turtle, someone who embraces a party with balloons and accessories, or a party goer who always makes an entrance!!

This is the Around the World on Wednesday design team! We have a few new members and I am very excited to see how they interpret the theme challenge this month.
