Art in Bloom Bundle consists of a Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder and Die Set, Page 116 of the Annual Catalogue.
And today I am participating in Kylie’s International Blog Highlight, using this beautiful bundle to create a card showing appreciation for someone who consistently supports me … showing up to watch my facebook lives or purchasing my monthly tutorial bundles. This is the first time I have created with this bundle …. and I must admit, my favourite part is not the nifty stamp/emboss/die cut elements, the fabulous sketchy look flowers or the lovely sentiments, but the graphic strip of dashes and the row of dots. Love, love, love
Kylie hosts her International Blog Highlights on her blog every month … you can check out the gallery for this month’s highlights here. And you can vote for your five favourite cards … how fun. Simply click on the heart in the top right corner until it turns red. My project is way down at #32 in the gallery if you would like to give me a little red heart! 😉 However I think you will be hard pressed to limit your favourites to just five!!
In this close up pic, you can see how the stamps and embossing folder can combine to create a beautiful background with the feature florals built in …. or you can stamp, die cut and emboss those gorgeous flowers to create individual floral highlights.
I elected to use the shadow stamps to quickly colour my flowers. I stamped the outline with Calypso Coral … I love this colour, but I struggle to photograph it! This shade comes up so vibrantly in my images! The flower colours are Daffodil Delight, Bumblebee and Mango Melody … the shading stamp is a Distinktive style and so the colour is diffused somewhat because these images are a series of many, many small dots to create the light and dark shading. The shading doesn’t fit the outline exactly, which I love because it saves me the anxiety of having to get it perfect every time! Hahaha!
But seriously, those strips of irregular blocks and the slightly splotchy dots are a dream to stamp and are the perfect contrast for the sketchy flowers. The blocks and dots also feature the Distinktive style of stamp and so have their own shadow and texture built in.
And that sentiment is just perfect! I have so many people to thank for making me happy!
I will be creating this card live on Facebook for my Whimsy Wednesday presentation this week. 10:30am South Australia time, 11:00am Daylight Savings Time and 10:00am Queensland time. Maybe I will use a different colourway? Suggestions?
