Aim for Alaska Blog Hop – 2017 Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peek
![]()

Welcome to the Aim For Alaska Blog Hop featuring products from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue.
The Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue goes live on 1st September 2017, so we are giving you a little look at some of the wonderful new product. I have been a part of the “Aim for Alaska” training group run by Kylie Bertucci this past year. It hasn’t been just training though .. the group is a wonderful support network of inspiring demonstrators. Contact Kylie here for information on her next training program.
The list of demonstrators participating in this Blog Hop is just below my post, so grab a cuppa and take a look at all the blogs for some fantastic inspiration.
Cheers to the Year

I have used this stamp set for my project today. Cheers to the Year is a set of 12 rubber stamps and comes in either wood mount or clear mount. It not only covers Christmas, but New Year and Weddings as well. I love the circular graphic elements, and so that is what I have featured in my card project.

Yep, it’s bright! And not your traditional Christmas colours. I cheated for the background. I used one of the Foil Patterned papers from the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is a pack of 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper which features 4 foil printed patterns. The are a truly gorgeous paper, and I chose the one that looks a little bit like fireworks.
Colouring Designer Series Specialty Paper
I added some colour with Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Sahara Sand inks and a blender pen. So much easier than embossing all those images!

The greeting piece is one of the circular elements and it has been embossed with silver embossing powder. The “Seasons Greetings” words are stamped with Versmark and then Crushed Curry and clear embossed. I coloured over the silver embossing with Crushed Curry ink and a blender pen, before die-cutting with a circle framelit.

Pimped Foil Snowflakes …
And then we come to that beautiful enamel look feature behind the greeting! It is a Foil Snowflake!

These are a metallic foil product that co-ordinates with the Cheers to the Year Stamp Set and the Year of Cheer Speciality Designer Series Paper. Heck, they are going to co-ordinate with just about anything!!
They come in a pack of 24 … 12 Gold and 12 Silver. The reverse side is Very Vanilla I think, and is also very pretty.
However, I wanted to tie the snowflake in with the zesty colour scheme of my background, so I coloured the Very Vanilla side of the Snowflake with Crushed Curry ink (just pat the ink pad all over the snowflake) and then immediately covered with clear embossing powder and heat set the powder. OH … MY … GOODNESS! How delicious is this!? It looks just like enamel and I will probably blow up my heat tool making a few of these in every ink colour!

If you don’t have a Holiday Catalogue as yet and would like to get your hands on one, give me a yell.
