World Cardmaking Day

World Cardmaking Day …. what does it mean? It is a day to celebrate the happiness of creating, the joy of giving and the delight in receiving a handmade card. So much emotion associated with one little handmade card!
1st October each year is officially World Cardmaking Day, but it is a day that can be celebrated at any time. Those of us who create handmade cards know how much pleasure is derived from the creative process. It is often an activity which is pushed to the bottom of the “to do” list in these increasingly busy times, however we should all take a little “me” time every now and then, pull out the stamps and inks, dies and stickers, cardstock and glues … whatever you use to create … and make stuff!
Not only will you satisfy the creative urge, you can then pass on a little bit of happiness to the recipient of your handmade creation. [mks_pullquote align=”left” width=”300″ size=”24″ bg_color=”#908dbc” txt_color=”#ffffff”]A handwritten envelope amongst the bills, junk mail and more bills is becoming a rare and special thing …[/mks_pullquote] … opening the envelope to find a handmade card is even more special. Especially when it is unexpected! That simple little gesture has the potential to totally lift someone’s day. How special is that?!!
So celebrate Cardmaking Day and all it encompasses this weekend by creating and mailing out a card to someone special for no particular reason! This is the card I have created and mailed out to a number of people I haven’t spoken to in a while, just to say hello.
Stampin’ Up! are helping celebrate Cardmaking Day with fantastic special offers on cardmaking essentials to help you keep creating card all year long … only available 1st to 5th October, 2016.
Definitely take a look at the Designer Tin of Cards Project Kit! Wow, AU$35.25 for the kit (normally AU$47.00), which makes 16 beautiful cards and includes the fabulous tin to store the cards once completed.Wouldn’t this make a fabulous Christmas gift, for a crafty friend to make up themselves, or make the kit up and give a very lucky person a tin of 16 fabulous cards. If you can give it away! Better grab one for yourself too. 🙂
You can use whatever stamps you have on hand to stamp the greetings, however the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set (sold separately) is chock full of greetings for every occasion.
[mks_pullquote align=”right” width=”300″ size=”24″ bg_color=”#908dbc” txt_color=”#ffffff”]Come and put your Tin of Cards together with me … 29th October[/mks_pullquote]If you are close to me and purchase the Designer Tin of Cards Kit this month, I will be holding a free cardmaking morning on 29th October where you can bring your Designer Tin of Cards Kit and we will put all 16 cards together.
