Join me every second Monday (or Tuesday!) in getting creative with a “messy” technique tutorial. Have your gloves and apron on hand!
Today’s technique is using ink spritzers on gesso’d book paper. Create a heap of these background papers at the one time and keep them on hand for when you need to create a card in a hurry.
Every single background you create will be different and the colour choices are only limited by the colours of your ink refills. The Stampin’ Spritzers are inexpensive and come in packs of two. Make sure you grab some with your next order.
Gesso is available from most art supply stores and Rubbing Alcohol is sold as Isocol (the green bottle with the crocodile) in Australia in most supermarkets or pharmacies. I picked up an old book at a second hand store for the background paper.
Here are the tutorial videos (Part 1 and Part 2) … check out my Gesso and ink refill manicure!
I have so much to learn about making videos, but laugh along with my learning curve! And I would love it if you would leave a comment! 🙂
Here is another colour combination… Cherry Cobbler and Tempting Turquoise.
This amazing tree stamp is the Sheltering Tree Polymer set from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue. The card base is Kraft cardstock, ink used is Memento Tuxedo Black and I have used Stampin’ Write Basic Black Marker for the doodle frames, but any black pen will do.
Gather together your supplies and have a go at this technique for creating backgrounds … it is fun … and messy!
If you would like to schedule a Skype tutorial with me to work through this or any other technique, I have scheduled Tuesdays as Skype days! Give me a yell to schedule a time and let’s catch up!
