Gallery Blooms and Simple Joys – The Stamping Station
![]()
Gallery Blooms Suite has been used to create a project based around Simple Joys for the Stamping Station creative team. We gather on the third Sunday of every month for an Instahop and a blog hop.

Today’s theme is Simple Joys … and that gave me a little chuckle, because I don’t usually “do” simple. I tend to use lots of layers and details, even occasionally venturing into “too much” mode. But perhaps simple joy isn’t always about simple design. Sometimes it’s the joy of an afternoon in the craft room creating without rules, deadlines, or anyone asking what’s for dinner. It was on such an afternoon that this project was created.
All the Beautifuls …

For my card I gathered all the Beautifuls … Beautiful Gallery Suite, (including Gallery Blooms Bundle and Beautiful Motif Dies), and the Beautifully Celebrated Stamp Set for the sentiment. The softly patterned background is a little sneak peek of upcoming May product — Water and Dotted Lines Decorative Masks.
I kept the colours muted with Smoky Slate, Basic Beige, Misty Moonlight, Basic Gray, and just a touch of Balmy Blue.

Here are my design elements:
- I created the background using the Water & Dotted Lines masks, ink blending Misty Moonlight, Basic Beige and Smokey Slate inks onto Basic White Card.
- The foliage is a die from Gallery Blooms Dies, I used the waste piece as a stencil and ink blended with Smokey Slate.
- This layer was sliced up into three pieces and then layered onto Basic Gray card, leaving a small sliver of the darker shade showing. Why? I was heading down a different road here, and once it was sliced, it was going to be that way. Do you ever do this, start out with one idea in mind and then abandoning it part way through to head off in a totally different direction?
- The frame is from the Gallery Blooms Dies cut from Smokey Slate card … a favourite of mine, which is now on the last chance list, so I am using it as much as I can.
- The flowers (from Gallery Blooms) are stamped in Smokey Slate and coloured gently with Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends (and a heft dose of Colour Lifter).
- The flower centres are the some retired matte dots.
- Basic Gray card has been used to die cut the floral elements (Gallery Blooms and Beautiful Motif Dies).
- And as a nod to our “simple joy” theme, the sentiment is from another fave product of mine, Beautifully Celebrated stamp set!

I am excited to see how the Stamping Station team have interpreted this theme … hop all the way through the entire blog hop list to check out all the creativity. I am off to check them out now … don’t forget to leave comments as you go. We love comments so we know you are out there and looking at our creations.
See you next month!
