Fresh Starts and New Beginnings is a great theme for the first hop of the year from the Stamping Sunday crew.

With a fresh start and new beginnings come exciting things and we have some talented guests joining us this month from the Creation Station Team. We prepare to unveil a merger with the Creation Station Team, complete with new name, so stick with us and we’ll unveil everything fully next month. This month, enjoy the added inspiration.

Fresh Starts and New Beginnings

And of course, I am using some fresh and yummy new product for my project today.

Lovely & Beautiful Suite Collection…

Fresh Starts Lovely and Beautiful

Simply Beautiful Dies …

This project features the Simply Beautiful Dies and the Lovely and Beautiful Designer Series Paper. I am enjoying using these stand alone floral dies, especially with the Designer Series Paper. The floral patterns in the paper are quite large designs, not something that I would likely use a lot of in my projects. But the large flowers in the paper lend well to being used for diecutting the floral petal layers, and depending on which ones you use, have pretty gold touches.

I have used two patterns in the Designer Series Paper, they are both subtle patterns but one is square and one is floral, so they contrast just enough. To add extra texture, I have used the fabulous Beautiful Patterns 3D Embossing Folder after the pieces are adhered.

Fresh Starts - Lovely and Beautiful

Here is my step by step process:

  • The card base is Crumb Cake … a standard C6 (or A2 Card in Imperial), folded and portrait mode.
  • Cut a panel of Designer Series Paper (the Petal Pink with white floral pattern) … 9.5 cm x 14.8 cm (3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″)
  • Cut 5 pieces of the Peach Pie check Designer Series Paper – 8.5 cm x 2.5 cm (3-1/4″ x 7/8″) – and adhere them onto the Petal Pink DSP.
  • Cut a semi-circle out of the left side of the DSP panel with the largest Stylish Shape Circle Die first, and then run the panel through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the Beautiful Patterns 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Adhere panel to folded card front.

For the flowers:

  • Choose one of the large floral patterns in the DSP and die cut flowers from the centre of the DSP flowers (one set of large petals and three sets of smaller petals)
  • Die cut the flower centre pieces from Calypso Coral card. If you want a more defined edge, carefully add Calypso Coral ink to the very edges of each petal with a sponge dauber. Assemble the flowers.
  • I added some dots of Black Enamel Effects (a retired product from Stampin’ Up!), but you could use small adhesive embellishments in the flower centres also.
  • Die cut the leaf dies from Granny Apple Green card.

Assemble the card:

  • Adhere the leaves and flowers around the die cut circle cut out.
  • Adhere a white heat embossing sentiment on black card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add adhesive embellishments.
