Sentimental Park Stamp Set for Colour Inkspiration Challenge 177

Loading

Sentimental Park Stamp Set is an older set I have pulled out to create with for Colour INKspiration Challenge #177. I also used the co-ordinating dies, the Wanted to Say Dies and the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder.

Welcome to our 177th challenge at Colour INKspiration! We welcome Sandra Strobel as our Guest Designer. Our inspiration image for this challenge was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member Cathy Pinchbeck.

CI#177 will run for almost TWO weeks and will end at 7 pm (AEST/AEDT) on Monday 25 November, 2024.

Double Embossing …

I love creating for the Colour INKspiration challenges … I can eliminate one of the design choices by using the challenge colours, and the rest is all free creating! I wanted to try this double embossing technique .. there are many, many ways to do this, depending on which side of the embossing folder you ink with embossing ink, and then which colour powder you use. I used clear embossing powder and Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder to create the background. It’s soooo pretty!

MATERIALS

Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder / Clear Embossing Powder and Versamark Ink Pad / Cardstock in challenge colours – Pretty Peacock, Melon Mambo, Blueberry Bushel / Sentimental Park Stamp Set and Dies / Dye Inks in challenge colours / Gold Foil Card / Wanted To Say Dies / Metallic Enamel Effects / Gold Twisted Thread

instruction

Step 1 / Grab a panel of Pretty Peacock card stock cut to layer size for standard card front. Apply Embossing Buddy all over the front of the panel. Ink up the embossing folder with Versamark Ink by tapping all over the debossed side (with the panel indented) being careful not to get the ink into the indented pattern if possible. The Distressed Tile folder is great because it really doesn’t matter if you get some stray ink or powder.
Place the cardstock with the “buddied side” against the inked up side of the embossing folder and run through the die cutting/embossing machine.
Tip clear embossing powder all over the inked side of the cardstock, tip off the excess and heat with Heat Tool until the powder is melted and shiny.
Sit back and admire your gorgeous background.

Step 2 / Die cut the shape from Sentimental Park dies sort of in the middle of the embossed panel, but a little bit higher. This will flatten out your embossing a little bit, but it doesn’t really matter. Tie a length of Gold Twisted Thread around one side of the panel and make a bow in the front.

Step 3 / Adhere a piece of Brights Designer Series paper in Melon Mambo centrally to a Melon Mambo folded card base. Adhere the embossed panel over the top so the Designer Series Paper shows through the die cut shape.

Step 4 / Stamp a selection of flowers and leaves from the Sentimental Park stamp set onto white card with Pretty Peacock, Blueberry Bushel and Melon Mambo inks. These images are an outline and then a stamp to colour the images, so super quick. Die cut with co-ordinating dies.

Step 5 / Die cut some small flowers from Blueberry Bushel card and Gold Foil Card. Adhere the stamped and die cut flowers to the card front so they look like they are growing out from behind the die cut shape.

Step 6 / Die cut the Celebrate word and background dies (Wanted to Say Dies) from Blueberry Bushel and Gold Foil card. I used some Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Gold Foil Card to make it easier to adhere to the Blueberry Bushel background piece. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Emboss the word YOU with Gold embossing powder onto Blueberry Bushel card. I found a suitable “You” in another stamp set, I can’t remember which one. Fussy cut and adhere to card front.

Step 7 / Apply little dots of Gold Metallic Enamel Effects to the centres of the flowers and set aside to dry well.

Step 8 / Apply Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems to card front.
